Pro-tip for all the folks tackling Super Metroid: Ridley doesn’t need a single regular missile, charge shots and supers are your best friend 🤞

Missile refill stations are a thing though.

I used regular missiles cuz I want him to feel pain.

Did you know that each shoot to ridley on Ceres station takes 100 HP points, and that hp deduction carries to his fight in norfair depths, so if you're a speedrunner the fight can be long or easy if you decided not engage with ridley at all during the prologue.

But you can kill ridley in like 2 seconds if you use missiles

this fight is still awful with unavoidable attack after unavoidable attack either way

As you get your ass beat trying to use charge shots lmao

Think about it, my play wasn’t even close to optimal. I took massive damage every few seconds and had way less tanks than you normally would by this point. And I still won 😂

I think the bigger pro-tip is spin jump as little as possible. IIRC, because of a coding mistake, his routine for dealing with those interrupts all his other routines.
