Russian Fibre Optic FPV Drone attacks a net protecting a Ukrainian D-20 with an unexploded Fibre Optic Drone laying on top of the netting. Note these are Fibre Optic drones and not Vandal drones. At one point all of Russia's fibre optically controlled drones were vandals, but now it seems that Vandal is being phased out.

Chief designer of Fire Point company Denys Shtilierman Denys Shtilierman on the Ukrainian FP-1 and FP-2 drones (the quoted post shows an example of these drones' work): ▪️ FP-1 drones are constantly being improved. Currently, for example, they are being tested for flight navigation using night vision cameras without relying on GPS. If successful, the drones will become even cheaper. ▪️ The FP-1 drone is a deep-strike drone. Previously, it carried a 60 kg warhead, and now it will carry 105 kg. The FP-2 drone - this is middle-strike - previously had a 105 kg warhead; now it will carry 158 kg. ▪️ It’s very important that everything is now closely coordinated with the military. Only the experience that the troops gain directly matters, and it must always be taken into account. The FP-2 drone was developed in response to a military request. ▪️ At present, 200 FP-1/2 drones are being produced daily. Production could easily be increased 2-3 times.

Russia attacked Dnipropetrovsk Oblast with Geran-2 drones overnight and this morning. At least 5 drones attacked two targets in the city of Kryvyi Rih. The first attack targeting something near the city centre. The second attack is still ongoing right now. Strikes were also carried out on Dnipropetrovsk Oblast: - At least 6 drones struck the town of Petropavlivka. - 4-5 drones struck the town of Mykolaivka. - At least 2 drones struck the town of Vasylkivka. - 1 drone struck a local school in the town of Zelenyi Hai.

Last night, Russia attacked Sumy Oblast with Geran-2 drones. At least 3 drones attacked Sumy City. Interestingly, they used a new tactic, where each drone would fly to a high altitude over the city, make large circles while slowly descending, before cutting off their engine and silently gliding to their target (example of this in media 3). This made it very difficult to detect the drones on approach to their targets. As a result of the strikes, large fires broke out at the impact sites. Additionally, 3-4 drones attacked targets in/near the city of Shostka.

A fight between a Russian Tor air defense system and Ukrainian FP-2 strike drones unfolded over occupied territory. The first drone spotted missile launches through its camera and was shot down, the second FP-2 was also intercepted. But thanks to live video feed from the first two drones, a third FP-2 was able to identify the launch position, locate the Tor system, and return for a second pass, delivering a precise strike on the target.

Just two years ago, he hadn’t even trained as a pilot. Now, he flies night missions almost daily, tracking and destroying drones to protect civilians on the ground.

Yesterday I met Yura, a 12-year-old 🇺🇦 boy who lost his father on the front lines. He's absolutely obsessed with drones and often comes to the testing field to meet all the pilots testing new drones and rockets. Thankfully, he and his friend were there when I crashed. The drone lost radio connection, and without these kids I’d never have found it. Their reward? 1,000 hryvnias and a "WE DON'T MAKE DRONES" FRONT LINE KIT chevron — which I think is fair after they saved us 33,000! I really want to get Yura a laptop and drone controller so he can learn to fly drones on a simulator. You never know - this kid could one day become a future pilot too 🫡 When I asked if there was anything more he wanted than to learn to fly drones, he replied, “To have my dad back.” 😪 #Lviv #Львів
