Crap like this happening makes me glad to not have ridden the MAX for 10 years. Hippy dippy, flower power idea from a bygone era where everyone could just ride an open access transit system for free; now an epitome of a miserable city in denial about how bad it's fallen apart.

One more reason to never go into downtown Portland or ride the MAX train ever again.

I have avoided the Max for years. In the late 90's and early 2000's my wife and I would frequently ride it in the evening just to have dinner downtown.

I don't ride Trimet often anymore. Did for the 1st time, in a long time, last summer. It was a good reminder of why I don't ride Trimet.

Where is Portland City Councilor Angelita Morillo when you need her? She loves Trimet and says people fall in love on public transit. This man could be her special someone.

Portland’s free ride system for homeless & illegals/criminals is working about as well as when they decriminalize illegal drugs. Technically it’s not free but there’s no prosecution for riding without paying for homeless/illegals/criminals on Max it’s a disaster usually.
