Police and soldiers deployed under Operation Prosper have shut down a suspected illegal mining safe house in the Losberg area near Westonaria. A 62-year-old South African man, who owns the property, has been arrested. Movable assets and livestock belonging to the suspect have also been confiscated. Preliminary police investigations indicate that the owner used the property to allegedly shelter undocumented foreign nationals involved in illegal mining. Police say the farm was also apparently used to process illegally mined minerals. PM #KayaNews

The site functioned not only as a police station but also as a Basij-linked security base, where regime forces had reportedly fired on civilians from inside the building and from the rooftop during crackdowns. Macpherson firmly rejected Mashatile’s statement, saying, “There’s only one person who will tell me to resign from government, and that is the leader of the DA.
