As the last shot of the film 'Starling', it was a real treat to animate this poignant moment where the emotional core of the film culminates. Shots like this which require restrained and subtle acting are always a great challenge to take on and also as rewarding once finished!

A 3D Nexrad radar app built with Fable's help just launched a web version with 15 frames of 2D radar across 280 stations in the US, Europe and parts of Asia, completely free with no ads or tracking. → Up to 60 frames back and full 3D rendering in the app → GIF sharing of the most recent radar frames built as a new feature → Fable handled most of the web design conversion from Swift

The shot of the T-Rex wrecking a bus in THE LOST WORLD is a perfect mix of practical stunts (a real bus rigged to implode at the point of impact as the stunt performers are blown out the other side) and ILM's incredible CG work. Not to mention that beautiful night lighting.

The Mont Helena Mound in Mississippi. The house was built in 1899 and now primarily serves as a wedding venue. About 10 feet of dirt was removed from the top when the house was constructed and the site was the focal point of a surrounding town around A.D. 1200.

A tunnel exit takes a camera from ~1 lux to ~100,000 lux in under a second. Auto-exposure can't keep up, highlights blow out, and the first frames after the exit are unusable This is a Rev8 OS1 Max capturing the Yosemite Wawona Tunnel exit. 116 dB of dynamic range, hardware HDR, and color captured in the same photon event as depth, so every point holds its color through six orders of magnitude of lighting change See the dataset in Ouster Studio:

Another short comparison, even more effective here because they reused a lot of the same frames

Mumbai: A heartwarming moment from a train journey is winning hearts online after a street dog was seen resting peacefully inside an AC coach during intense summer heat. Instead of reacting negatively, passengers around the dog were seen smiling and allowing the animal to stay comfortably inside. The touching scene has sparked praise on social media, with many people appreciating the kindness and compassion shown by fellow passengers during the extreme weather conditions. At a time when temperatures are soaring across many parts of the country, the small act of humanity has left a big impact online. #StreetDog #Humanity #TrainJourney #ViralMoment #Punetimesmirror

When it doubt, cut frames as my old coworkers used to say. These days, if the rig allows it, I'll cut frames and try to add a form of smear or double my old mentor told me that smears are something that should be felt, not seen unless closely examined. Smears should never distract from or overpower the rest of the animation rig: Kiel Figgins @TheGreatJug
