Humbled to share that we successfully test fired 3 semi-cryogenic rocket engines simultaneously, as a cluster. All the 3 engines are 3d printed as single pieces of hardware - designed and manufactured in-house at AgniKul Cosmos Rocket Factory - 1. As with all our propulsion systems, these 3 engines are also powered by electric motor driven pumps. This test involved calibrating 6 pumps, 6 motors and tuning 6 speed control algorithms to work together in perfect sync to achieve uniform startup, steady state and shutdown performance across the entire system. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time such a test has been performed in India with semi cryogenic engines. Some people have DMed me saying that it is impossible for things to move faster than the speed of light as described by Einstein’s theory of general relativity. Therefore a higher intelligence from another star system would be too far away to visit earth. How to get to Mars in just 3 months? The British startup Pulsar Fusion has presented an ambitious project — Sunbird. This is a space tug with a thermonuclear engine that can accelerate to 800,000 km/h! At this speed, you can fly to Mars in just 2-3 months, and to Jupiter or Saturn — in a few years. The engine is based on a thermonuclear reaction between deuterium and helium-3. Unlike conventional nuclear fuel, it produces almost no radioactive waste — mainly protons are released, not neutrons. The engine operates on the principle of direct fusion: the plasma is not held inside, but is immediately ejected, creating a powerful jet stream. This is simpler than complex installations on Earth, and does not require a large energy output — the reaction itself is enough. The first flight of the prototype into space is planned for 2027, and a full-fledged tugboat by 2030. In the future, Pulsar Fusion wants to build a network of "fueling stations" throughout the Solar System. Such stations will help recharge tugs and send missions even to the most distant planets.

How to get to Mars in just 3 months? The British startup Pulsar Fusion has presented an ambitious project — Sunbird. This is a space tug with a thermonuclear engine that can accelerate to 800,000 km/h! At this speed, you can fly to Mars in just 2-3 months, and to Jupiter or Saturn — in a few years. The engine is based on a thermonuclear reaction between deuterium and helium-3. Unlike conventional nuclear fuel, it produces almost no radioactive waste — mainly protons are released, not neutrons. The engine operates on the principle of direct fusion: the plasma is not held inside, but is immediately ejected, creating a powerful jet stream. This is simpler than complex installations on Earth, and does not require a large energy output — the reaction itself is enough. The first flight of the prototype into space is planned for 2027, and a full-fledged tugboat by 2030. In the future, Pulsar Fusion wants to build a network of "fueling stations" throughout the Solar System. Such stations will help recharge tugs and send missions even to the most distant planets.

Advancing LOX/LCH4 Dual-Propellant Cooling for HANBIT-Micro INNOSPACE has successfully completed a series of combustion tests for its upgraded 4 kN-class liquid-methane kick-stage combustor for HANBIT-Micro. 🚀 Building on the 237-second long-duration ground test in May 2024, the combustor has been advanced with a Dual-Propellant Regenerative Cooling scheme. 📈 ⚙️ Unlike conventional single-propellant regenerative cooling, this approach utilizes both fuel and oxidizer as coolants, enabling: 🔹 Reduced feed pressure requirements 🔹 Lighter propellant tanks 🔹 Lower overall kick-stage mass 🔥 By preheating and vaporizing both coolants, the system also achieves: 🔹 Improved mixing efficiency 🔹 Shorter ignition delay 🔹 Enhanced combustion stability and efficiency 💡 Overcoming High Technical Barriers Most notably, the recent test validated stable regenerative cooling under low-pressure, subcritical conditions — a technically demanding regime — and mitigated the risks associated with using liquid oxygen (LOX) as a coolant. Quick start of engines is important to achieve higher payload capability and better overall control of the vehicle after stage separation. We successfully demonstrated a quick start of our 1 meter long, single piece, fully 3d printed, semi cryogenic Agnite engine. The angular acceleration (rotations per second gained every second) that was achieved here is truly humbling. One advantage of liquid propellant rocket engines is that the lower stage of the vehicle can be started, checked and then flown on the launchpad. Such a procedure demands extremely rapid pump ramp up times - this is what this test validated for us.
