St. Louis City's clever off-ball movement continues to impress. Here's a lovely third-man run from Marcel Hartel that helps open the scoring for St. Louis in their 3-0 win over Austin FC. Few teams in MLS are more coordinated off the ball than St. Louis under new leadership.

The 4 OFFENSES that make up ALL OFFENSES: Triangle, Princeton, DDM, Flex Understanding the spacing and triggers behind these systems opens up the Pandora's box of teaching the game conceptually. 👇🏼 Specific elements to study from each: TRIANGLE - Weakside 2 man game (pinch post) - Strongside cutting - Corner occupation and stretching the D PRINCETON - Playing through the big on the perimeter (point series) - Occupying the weakside defenders with replace/flare - 2 man off ball actions (split/chin) - Cutting DDM - Push/pull on penetration - Filling space - Short corner hunting seams Flex - Occupation of multiple helpside defenders - Screen the screener and finishing the action - Reading lock and trail vs switch out of off ball actions - BLOB/SLOB execution (STS) Rick Adelman was one of the first to modernize Princeton. Point Series into Spread spacing 👇🏼

THOUGHTS ON 3 BALL STEALS 1) As a base runner treat the 3 ball steal as a hit & run. You CANNOT get picked. 2) If it’s not a ball or if it is not hit, good chance you will be thrown out. 3) Roll your head to pick up contact to avoid being deked by the middle infielders(Somewhere between 1st & 3rd step) 4) Careful not to come off the base on your slide. Even on ball 4 if you over slide you are out. 5) Give the hitter steal verses giving him hit & run. On 3 ball hit & runs, hitters occasionally lose the count & swing at ball four. 6) This is basically a run & hit w/o a + jump at 1B. Our hope is the hitter gets a good pitch to hit & is able to drive the ball in the gap or walk if it is a ball.

Mini SSG to score from deep crosses #3️⃣ ⚽️ Play into boxes for a deep cross to score from 🎓 Defenders break out to score by playing back to coach (can replace with mini break out goal/target) 💡 Movement off the ball, rotations encouraged #Coaching #Development #Football

The new “perfect throw”…the new set up for receiving the throw….set up in front of bag…move up line….let the ball travel all the way to the runner. Clinic by Julien.

You NEED to use pocket dribbles to protect the ball against aggressive defenders ✅️ STOP letting them speed you up ❌️ If you want a step-by-step guide to get a tighter handle in just 10 days, I built a ball handling program just for you. Comment "HANDLES" and I'll send it

Araujo is such a smart player off the ball. Look at his movement after Liverpool won the ball from the high press. The moment he sensed the pass was going to Alisson, he immediately sprinted back to provide a passing option. That kind of anticipation and off-the-ball intelligence is what separates top defenders from the rest.

📋🏀 Dusty May drew up an Aday Mara fake ball screen backdoor for the game winner — the same play Michigan ran to close the first half. Worked to perfection against Iowa's off-ball denials.
