I prompted Omma to build a #threejs app with real dynamic lighting on a 3D mesh - generated from a single image, using Depth Anything v2 + Transformers from Hugging Face ⚡ Depth estimation in the browser 🫧 3D mesh from the depth map 💡 Dynamic lighting reacting to the geometry No manual code. Pure AI prompting. The future of 3D on the web feels wide open.

Drop a video, Depth Anything v2 calculates the depth map frame by frame, and Three.js renders a fully lit 3D mesh in real time. Depth estimation on video in the browser +Automatic baking pass + Dynamic lighting reacting to the geometry #vibecoding #threejs #webgl

Today’s my last day at Rive It’s been almost two years, and what a ride it’s been. I’ve worked on around 250 UIs and demos, made over 50 videos, created music scores for social content, helped shape the branding for Rive 101, and explored all kinds of UI: AI, automotive, music, games, watchfaces, TV… you name it. I’ve learned so much, had a ton of fun, and got to be part of something really special. Now, it feels like the right time to move on and switch focus from demos to products. That said, I’m not going anywhere; I’ll still be around as a Rive Ambassador and Expert, staying in touch with the awesome community and team. I love production-ready design, craft and handshake approach, so, you can expect even more Rive on your devices!

GPU Canvas is now live for everyone. Rive's low-level GPU layer for 3D, shaders, and custom effects is out of Early Access and in the production editor today. Write your shaders once in WGSL. Rive compiles them for Metal, Vulkan, Direct3D, WebGPU, and WebGL. It adds 25KB to the runtime.
