Another way to see it is that Russia is damned under its moronic leader. There will never be a “successful” ending of the war he euphemistically calls SMO. Ukraine may suffer needlessly because of the hesitancy of western partners but Russia will not be able to conquer Ukraine. Too much is at stake to allow such an outcome.
