An investigation by Hunterbrook Media has found that the American technology company Ubiquiti is supplying Russia with equipment used by the Russian military in its war against Ukraine, including for drone operations, circumventing sanctions. The deliveries are routed through third countries, including Turkey, Armenia, and Kazakhstan. According to Hunterbrook Media, Ubiquiti radio bridges - wireless long-range data transmission devices that do not require cables - are widely used by the Russian military to maintain communications between units and to operate drones. Approximately 80% of the radio bridges used by the Russian armed forces at the front are manufactured by Ubiquiti. There are effectively no alternatives to this equipment. As part of the investigation, a journalist posing as a Russian officer procuring equipment for his unit contacted online stores selling Ubiquiti products in Russia. Many of these retailers use the company’s brand in their domain names and website designs, and some explicitly claim to be "official" distributors. Around ten sellers agreed to supply equipment for the needs of the Russian armed forces. Hunterbrook Media also contacted Ubiquiti’s official distributors. The Armenian-based company ITsupport agreed to ship sanctioned equipment to Russia. The American firm Multilink Solutions initially stated it could deliver directly to Russia, later withdrew that offer, but subsequently agreed to arrange shipment via Turkey. An analysis of trade data shows that the total value of Ubiquiti shipments crossing the border into Russia surged 66% after the invasion despite U.S. and EU sanctions and export controls. Ubiquiti itself claims it is unaware of where its distributors resell the equipment. US Energy Secretary Chris Wright: There's still a lot of gas from Russia going into Europe. 15% of Europe's gas supply still comes from Russia. They've set a date to end that in the next 18 months. So there's a big increased demand right there, just for the United States, to finish displacing the Russian gas. Europe absolutely insisted they will stop all purchases of Russian LNG. By the end of next year, 2026, no more imports of Russian gas of any kind.

Every terror attack carried out by Russia demonstrates that global sanctions against Putin's regime remain insufficient. Each Russian missile used by these beasts against our country contains components made by companies in other countries, not Russia. A Kh-101 missile has at least 53 such components. A Kh-47M2 Kinzhal contains at least 49 types of components that are not manufactured in Russia. The majority of these components are produced by companies around the world and brought to Russia through shady schemes. It is imperative to block such schemes and those who support them. There needs to be more sanctions. There must be greater accountability for sanctions evasion schemes. I am grateful to all the countries and leaders who are doing this. However, the pressure on Russia must be far greater. Only today, and only in the missiles that targeted Kyiv, more than 1500 components brought to the terrorist state from normal countries were found. This must stop, and the world has the necessary leverage.

Help not only our resilience, but also in fact themselves – if certain countries cut off the blatantly reprehensible schemes of supplying Russia with critical components for the production of missiles and drones, the Russian threat will become drastically smaller. Putin does not know how to wage war without terror. Russia would not have a single missile or most of its drones, and therefore would not be able to cause significant damage to our energy sector, if they were unable to purchase or somehow import Western-made components for missiles and "shaheds", as well as components and machinery from South Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan. Unfortunately, many critical components are still being supplied to Russia from Europe and the US. And we are not talking about a dozen components, but hundreds of thousands of components, purely commercial supplies. The direct consequence of all this is that the Russians are terrorizing our country, threatening other countries, behaving despicably, and refusing to make peace. Russia is supplying Iran with strike drones for its war against the United States, the Financial Times reports, citing Western intelligence. According to the report, Moscow and Tehran agreed on deliveries at the beginning of the conflict. I wrote about this at the very start of the war in Iran. It is quite likely that drone deliveries have been or are being carried out under the guise of "humanitarian convoys" from Tajikistan to Iran. According to official reports, this "humanitarian aid" amounted to 3,610 tonnes of cargo, delivered by a convoy of 110 trucks. Tajikistan may be used as part of a logistical chain for supplying dual-use goods or military assistance, including from Russia. In addition, Tajikistan and Iran maintain established defense ties, including the known operation of facilities in Tajikistan producing Iranian drones. This is the same scheme Russia used starting in 2014 at the beginning of the war in Ukraine, when it still sought to conceal its goals. Moscow used so-called "humanitarian convoys" to deliver military cargo to occupied Ukrainian territories.

Russia continues to place far greater hope in missiles and in killing people on the frontline than in diplomacy. This must be changed. The key to this is to continue supporting Ukrainian air defense, and the most important element today is protection against Russian ballistic missiles and other types of missiles. Now, because of the war in Iran, the supply of missiles for Patriots has become more problematic. On Tuesday, I sent a special letter on this matter to the President of the United States and the United States Congress – a detailed letter covering all aspects of what is needed and how the supply of a sufficient number of Patriots – missiles and systems – can influence the end of the war. We hope for a response, and I am grateful to all senators and members of Congress, to all our friends in the United States who are sympathetic to my appeal.
