Trump dropped the hammer. “When you say that we don't take others, all you have to do is look at the southern border. We let 21 million people become totally unchecked, totally unvetted.”

I've seen posts claiming South Africans are angry and mean about the "white Afrikaner refugee status" issue. IMO the anger may be about the harmful racial stereotypes and disinformation about the country leading up to this but most people are not angry - South Africans have a sharp sense of humour, possibly a trauma response😉. When comparing 🇿🇦 “refugees” to refugees from war-torn countries, it's clear why people are poking fun.
