I think it's just the way of this track, you know. It's a massively demanding circuit. It's amazing to drive. But getting the right balance, and I think, interestingly, there's something... I think it's just something in how this car is set up. There's kind of some similarities to what I felt last year, so we're just working on that." "So I'm confident overnight we can find something and get it to a better place. But it's an awesome circuit. Q: For many years, you've been 'the' Brazilian driver on the grid. But now Brazil does have one driver, Gabriel Bortoleto. How is it to share a little bit the passion from the fans with this guy? "It's different for me because I am one of the older drivers now. So it's amazing to see the young drivers coming up. And I'm so proud of these young drivers, the weight in which they have to take on, particularly in the world that we're in now with the sport being as big as it is. I think they do such a great job to navigate." "And I mean, he's driving so well. Such a nice young lad. And I think he's got such a bright future. lando asked whether his relationship with oscar changed: “it's still the same. and i think we both are happy that that's how it is. it's because we both have a lot of respect for one another and we both understand the position that we're in. and we both treat the world of driving versus just personally what we're like away from the track, quite differently. that's how i've always been. i feel like i've always gone on well with my teammates since go-karting. i've always wanted to because it just makes my life more fun, more enjoyable and that's also why i'm here. it's because i love what i do, so the more i can do that, the better. but we still just very much understand that we're here, we work for mclaren, we want the best for the team. we work very hard and as drivers always do, you try and maximize your own performance more than anything. but then when we step out of the car, we can still have a joke. we still have laughs in our debriefs, and we still enjoy everything away from the track. so, no i think it's still better than ever in many ways. i think we're still very different people. he's very just calm down to earth, very relaxed, always looks just cool, and that's something i also admire quite a bit, is how just plain sailing he is with a lot of things. it's a good attribute to have. always hard to read what mood he's in, but i think probably for me, you see more visually kind of the moods i'm in. but otherwise, it's not like we go play golf together and do things like i have done with carlos, daniel i didn't play golf with. but we're still different people, but in terms of relationship, we get along well. we still work together well and i think it's still better than it's ever been”

I hesitate posting this for a bunch of reasons, but I think it's good to just be transparent about everything. I love to highlight all of the incredible things that FSD does, but I also think it's good to talk about any issues that it has currently. In my opinion the E2E on the highway needs some major changes. This clip was from my drive yesterday, and it is without a doubt the most dangerous situation that FSD has put me in. Yes, I am aware that it is FSD Supervised - everything that happens in the car is ultimately my responsbility. I just was wanting to see what the car would do, and I was hoping that it would make a better decision to be honest. Let me know what you think.

I think, frist of all, an unbelievable effort from the team really to put the car down, you know, at 9:20 this morning. But the was ready at 9:00 you know. We were waiting on a bit of a better track condition and a few things that we wanted to be perfect before we went out. But yeah, from Fiorano testing with Ollie to here there's been moving like people have climbed mountains really to make this car work and it's been really good. So, we are dealing with the plan, learning as it goes. Of course, it's a busy program that we have for the day. So you know, its gonna be difficult to complete it. But for the first real day of driving, I think so far it's going really well and we'll keep pushing to make sure that all the details are covered. But we have more days than normal which is a good thing. Q: Very early days, of course, but just how different are these cars to drive? Have you had a chance to play around a little bit with some of the new modes? Ocon: Yeah, it's very difficult, very complicated. I got lucky be able to do a lot of simulator days before we started the year, so we are pretty well set on that. Everything is clear, but yes, it's very complicated you know, for all of us. But I hope that this will be the same for everyone, because if it is we're in the same boat, so we'll see. Q: But I get the sense you're really relishing that challange and what about the priorities from here, the rest of the weel here at the shakedown? Ocon: Yeah, the aim is really to learn, to get mileage under the car, you know, see the weak points, what we have to improve really. First feel of things, so we are sure that we take the right development path and we are sure that we put the resources where it matters the most. Where it's the most bothering us, so you know, we'll try and put all that together for that end of the test.
