Robinson Ortiz...Atta Baby! Ortiz had a HUGE year this past season, and got rewarded by being placed on the Dodgers' 40-man roster. Ortiz posted an ERA of 2.73, an average against of just .207, and had 72 Ks in 59.1 innings. And ALL of that is great. And, while the "execution" piece is still THE focus, keep in mind, he, in essence, hadn't pitched since 2021, due to Tommy John. Ortiz was a HIGHLY thought of prospect back in 2021, before his Tommy John, and came back to start 2024, but was shut down after just 6 outings and 11 innings in May of 2024. So, for him to be able to post 59.1 innings and have 48 appearances was HUGE in terms of showing that he's BACK. Then, to have the success on top of that, after such a long layoff, just goes to show how good his stuff is. Ortiz features a HUGE sweeping slider that starts well behind the back of a left-hander, and breaks from one side of the earth to the other. Trying to decipher whether that pitch is going to land "in the zone" or not is VERY difficult, even for hitters that have a LOT of MLB experience like he faced at OKC. His fastball is firm, and he can hit 6s and 7s, so those 2 pitches play well off of each other. Welcome aboard, Robinson. It's been a LONG road, one you've navigated successfully. People back then probably didn’t even try to keep up with who was quitting or hopping bands, they still managed to churn out great music.

jimin was literally facing the threat of being cut from the group every week, sleeping 2 hours a night, and bleeding out in the practice room just to keep up with members who trained for years. his hardships were about corporate survival, perfectionism, and the fear of failure as a 17 years old. to look at a kid working himself to exhaustion and label it 'toxic masculinity' just shows you don't know his story at all.

•The false start call on John Michael Schmitz. •The non-call for pass interference to Wan’Dale Robinson. •The non-call for pass interference on the final play of the game in the end zone. I’m not one to blame officials for losing games, but when it’s obvious, sometimes, it does need to be pointed out. Like the non-pass interference call to Darren Waller in the Week 6 game vs the Bills that ended the game. That was as blatantly bad as it got. In the Giants 33-25 loss yesterday to the Eagles, the officials were pretty bad to where several non-calls were that obvious. “I think there were some flags that could have been thrown, but that is not our place. That is not fair. If it’s a call, call it. It shouldn’t be a last-play mentality. If it’s a call, and if it’s blatant, then it should be called. It should be honored like it is the first play of the game.”- Giants QB Tyrod Taylor. “I’d say, any official questions, you can ask those guys.”- Giants head coach Brian Daboll, who clearly looked angry when he entered the press conference room, probably knew he’d get a massive fine if he said what he wanted to, so he kept it simple.

As a veteran, Memorial Day is a little more solemn to me. Remember to pay tribute to the brave souls who sacrificed everything, we are forever indebted to them. Hunter Biden is now active on X trying to rebrand himself as all about love, gratitude, and recovery. But when challenged, his true colors come out — getting defensive with strong language and telling critics to “say that to my face.” His posts are blowing up for obvious reasons. Recovery is important and worth supporting, but using it as a cloak for past crimes while dodging real accountability isn’t redemption. The pardon may keep him out of jail, but it doesn’t erase the sins or the damage. If he truly wants redemption, he should face legal consequences for his actions. You know that feeling when you've been at sea a long time and something in your body knows land is close before your eyes do. Something ancient in the blood. That's now. Right now. We've been in the dark so long some of us forgot what we were looking for. Kept moving anyway. Sheer bloody stubbornness. Ireland knew that trick. You don't need to see the end. 1B/3B Max Jensen, Cornell Keep an eye on this kid. Easy to fall in love with the long, athletic, 6-foot-3-inch frame. Clearly more strength coming into his upper half. Posted a .358/.455/.561 junior season. Parlayed that into a .386/.441/.648 showing in the NECL. Jensen has always shown hitterish traits with higher swing rates and above average bat-to-ball numbers. Swing doesn't have any glaring holes. He’s loose and adjustable in the box and seems to be able to get to anything. Despite his size, bat speed has never been a huge strength of Jensen’s, though it sounds like that’s been the emphasis this fall/winter. If he begins lifting the ball more frequently and getting to his pull-side like he’s capable, he’s got a chance to go inside the top-half of the draft as a priority senior. Primary first base, but sneaky athlete that looks passable at third base at this size. Just something about his film. Diamond in the rough/hidden gem type.

Tonight’s #NFLDraft prospect on the docket? #Vanderbilt signal caller, Diego Pavia Diego Pavia A very fun prospect to watch, his mobility in and out of the pocket and ability to improvise allows him to turn a long dead play into something magical. This man plays with a chip on his shoulder the size of Jupiter, and it shows every week. Vandy is never out of it, because he’ll put his entire body, heart and soul on the line for a win. His frame may be small, but you can’t deny this man’s heart, he plays like he’s a 6-5, 230 lb QB. He has adequate NFL arm strength, but his release is a bit unorthodox as a passer, and may need to be refined at the NFL level. But you know who else had some serious mobility and an NFL arm, but was slightly undersized? Seneca Wallace, which oddly enough is my comp for Pavia. I’ll be watching a lot more Vanderbilt Football this season, just to see Pavia have some fun on Saturdays before he grinds his way onto a roster on Sundays.
