The Premier of BC called this movement “treasonous.” That kind of language is dangerous. We are following a peaceful, democratic process under Canadian law — the same way Quebec held two referendums. When politicians use extreme words, some people may take that as permission to escalate conflict. Disagreement is part of democracy. Violence is not. Alberta’s future must be decided through peaceful conversation and lawful civic participation.

Then he said Alberta leaving Canada isn’t legal because one judge said the petition can’t be counted. So I asked him: If that decision was successfully appealed, would that change your mind?
