#Quest Browser 40.4 was released with support for real time hit testing on Quest 3 and 3s. You no longer have to scan the room if you want to use the #WebXR hit test API since we will measure the room while doing hit testing.

i love the meta quest browser so much. do you have any other hidden tips of how to get roomscale data into the scene...or hidden tips or general? Is this demo 3js or aframe?

This is the basic sample from the webxr samples site. Not sure about hidden tricks but we could do a better job advertising all our features :-)

Wow! That’s cool! More immersion!

Awesome!

Is this just the webxr sample website running in quest 40.4? (On mobile is this the url?)

Yes, it’s the one for the webxr samples

Amazing!!

Do game devs have this option also? Is the scan-first option faster during gameplay?

You mean on the native side? Yes, they can do this by using this openxr extension: XR_META_ENVIRONMENT_RAYCAST_EXTENSION

Cool, thank you

Is this specific to web? Or do i also get mesh/normals in the C++ apis?

You get a pose on the native side which gives you a position and rotation.

Awesome is this a new API? I have implemented the depth-map but i didnt try this yet. Would be awesome.

Yes, it was added a couple of months ago.

Is it the Scene api or the Depth api? Scene api used to be static is it a new dynamic-scan feature?

Can't really find it in the docs, any random Xr extension name or something i can google will do :)

Yea i don't see any reference to getting normals / realtime scanned scene geometry in the docs.

@Heaney555

I have some doubts about #webxr , can you please connect me.

Amazing!!! Does it work while in an unbounded session? ;)

Yes!
