Lydia Moynihan nailed what Washington still refuses to understand. The Republican base is not confused. It is not moving away from President Trump. It is getting more motivated to actually enact his agenda and remove Republicans who stand in the way. Massie losing so overwhelmingly sends a brutal message to every weak Republican in DC. You cannot run as conservative, vote against the MAGA agenda when it matters, then act shocked when the voters finally replace you. That is why Cornyn is in trouble. That is why Massie was in trouble. Republican voters are not asking for more speeches, excuses, or “principled” obstruction that helps Democrats. They want Trump’s agenda passed. They want fighters. They want results. And if Republicans refuse to align with that, the base is going to keep cleaning house.
