Only Democrats would would stoop so low as to make their purposeful refusal to tell the slaves they had been free for two years, a national holiday. I think it's important to remember that it was the abolitionists-Republicans who told them the truth and who laid down their sons lives to ensure the freedom of the slaves. Juneteenth is nothing to celebrate, what they did was abominable.

I was 23yrs old at Ft Hood Tx, when I found out about Juneteenth. High school taught me nothing about it.
