I am all for knowing your rights and not giving an police officer more information than is required, but there is no such allowance for not showing your license. A law enforcement officer can demand to see your license at any traffic stop without reasonable suspicion of any crime. If any of you thinks that I’m wrong, please show me a definitive law that says that. I will stand corrected if I’m wrong.

Here’s the deal if the cop pulls you over because he thinks you weren’t wearing your seatbelt and then he washed your car and sees that you are wearing your seatbelt. His investigation is over at that point. The cop has no right to ask for your identification.
