Radar loop showing ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred making landfall on Saturday evening. As the system continues over land it will bring a large amount of rain across the south-east and parts of southern inland Queensland, in the next 2-3 days.

Wild vision posted online show people lining beaches across the Gold Coast for a front row view as waves consume beachside carparks and popular walking tracks. A woman was even spotted walking her dogs along a beach before a large wave almost swept one of her furry friends out to sea. Authorities are urging residents at risk from storm surge and flooding to make use of the additional time from the slowing progress of Tropical Cyclone Alfred and seek alternative shelter.
