The reason behind Turkiye's intense interest in Eurofighter aircraft during its transition period was again the deployment of Qatar's Eurofighters to Turkiye. I met with Minister of the Armed Forces and Veterans Affairs of France Catherine Vautrin. We discussed Ukraine’s needs to strengthen our defense: military assistance, bolstering our air defense with systems and missiles, and expanding our aviation capabilities with French Mirage and Rafale aircraft. It is crucial to maintain the resilience of Ukraine’s air defense amid Russia’s massive attacks on our energy infrastructure. We are also interested in ensuring the swift execution of joint projects within European initiatives, primarily SAFE. I am grateful to the Minister for her first visit to Ukraine since taking office and to the President of France and all the French people for their support of Ukraine from the very beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

In 1959, 14 RB-47Es were converted to QB-47E radio-controlled target drones for use as full-scale aerial targets in evaluating advanced weapon systems. These drones were launched by operators and then handed off to a director aircraft, such as a T-33, to guide them to the target area.
