Obviously, flight and air combat sims from the 80s and even into the 90s weren't nearly as visually detailed and stunning as modern ones. But when Falcon was released it was the best air combat sim at its time. It was developed by Sphere and published by Spectrum HoloByte for Macintosh and MS-DOS, with later ports to Atari ST, Amiga, and other platforms. You take control of the F-16 Falcon jet fighter in realistic (at the time!) missions involving air-to-air combat against MiGs and ground attacks. The game features an incredibly detailed cockpit view with instrumentation, multiple HUD modes, radar systems, and authentic flight physics. It had variable difficulty levels and even a black-box recorder for reviewing flights. However, Falcon's biggest strength was walking the fine line between hardcore simulation depth with high playability even for the more casual gamers. I never considered myself a flight sim expert but could still get the F-16 off the ground :) I know, the polygon graphics look dated now but there was a time when this was state of the art. Top Gun (the movie) hit the cinemas in 1986, Falcon was released shortly after... excellent timing.

We’re excited to announce that the digital version of Azure Striker Gunvolt Trilogy Enhanced is now officially happening! Originally, this was planned as a Japan-/Asia-exclusive release centered around the physical edition with a design materials book — there was no plan for a digital version. Since Inti Creates didn’t have a clear path to distribute such a product overseas, a global release wasn’t considered. But thanks to the passionate support and strong voices from Gunvolt fans around the world, we revisited the idea — and now it’s real, within the scope of what we can manage. We also apologize for the confusion caused when we initially stated that only the physical version would be released.

I like Darryl but he is wrong about the Naturalization act of 1790. Yes it was obviously radical in that it included every European ethnic group as citizens, but it was exclusionary to non Europeans, as the rest of our immigration policy was up until 1965. Put this way, America was the first White nationalist country to exist. The prime reason we continue to have internal ethnic strife is because we are importing too many people that are genetically too far apart from us. Importing Italians and importing Indians are not the same thing, and never will be. The 1924 immigration act was the correct one.

Is anybody else observing connectivity issues with the iOS 18.4 Simulator? Something as simple as URLSession.shared.dataTask(with: urlObject) results in "The network connection was lost" for some URLs, but not for others. Seems to be fine on 18.3.1 and 18.2

The original inflation version I wanted to do was based on the old "Double D Gum" skit from the 90s. It looked kinda weird and you'd have to have seen the original to understand it. So I added a bubble and used the other version as the main inflation version.

Some more storyboards from an early version of one of our toughest scenes to crack on The Wild Robot: Sequence 250-The Forest. This was from a version where there was very little dialogue, and we just leaned into the silent wonder and beauty of Roz discovering the forest. The imagery was super compelling, but in the end it wasn’t giving us the insight into Roz’s character that we needed to service the rest of the story.
