Like many women in the struggle, I understood the unique risks we faced if arrested. The work of that generation was not in vain but it remains unfinished. Today, those gains are under threat from leaders who use public resources to enrich themselves, who deploy goons against citizens asking legitimate questions, and who ship our youth abroad as cheap labour rather than invest in them at home. Before every election, there will be handouts, we have to vote with our conscience and not with their cash. That is how we honour the spirit of Saba Saba. #sabasaba
