Random 90s at bat: Doug Drabek vs Barry Bonds (August 7, 1994).

Jon Miller and Joe Morgan, I always enjoyed listening to them on Sunday Night Baseball.

What a squad. The Giants were a fun team to root for in this era. Will Clark in the mix etc.

Three things stand out: 1) As a Pirates fan who loved the teams of that era, hard to watch those guys facing each other, wearing different uniforms 2) How effortlessly Bonds sent that over the fence the other way 3) Knowing the 1994 strike was about to hit and end the season

@TradesBaseball Great dome footage! I loved that Astros staff, thank you!!

@theaceofspaeder Damn Matt Williams 42hrs on AUG 7th. Beast.

Man, so simple, so calm, and I'm not talking about the Bonds home run. The time was.

Fucking strike season. We would’ve won it all.

Lol imagine batting Bonds 5th!! @ericandreuzzi

Crazy that Drabek was actually throwing 101 mph in this video but tbey just measured it differently.

I miss Morgan and Miller

Best hitter ever. No one has ever had the type of demeanor in the batters box. Steroids can’t do that …

Sad. Barry was a HOF before juicing. His arrogance got the best of him.

3 years before Jon Miller would leave Baltimore for SF.

Very tough to go oppo at Astrodome

Darren Lewis Robby Thompson Will Clark Matt Williams BONDS Willie McGhee Royce Clayton Kurt Manwearing Pitcher 93 Giants 103 wins no playoffs

Griffey had a prettier swing but Bonds had the perfect swing.

Bonds batting 5th seems pretty wild to me.

Skinny Barry hit oppo nukes , but we can’t put him in HOF because of because

After steroids and his body weight increased after 1999, it’s clear bonds had steroids and cheated with balco. He’s a cheater and will NEVER be in the HOF. Loser ruined his baseball career. 👎

Bonds could hit the long ball without being juiced.

Jon Miller doing the play-by-play and Joe Morgan doing the color commentary.

But when Gagne was on roids against Barry that was must watch tv.

Bonds on Giants before Balco.

Miss that swing.

Can’t come in the penthouse without an invite.

Like I know Bonds juiced, but he was the scariest hitter of my lifetime. His vision was. It steroid enhanced. That guy saw pitches better than everyone.

I think he finished the season with 37 because of The strikes Williams had 43.

They fucking had him hitting 5th?

He’ll go on to hit 756th exactly 13 years later

Was this before roids?

@gggiants 1st year without Will Clark, biggest mistake in franchise history.

Just throws his hands at it
