Spawning 1000 characters 🚶🚶🚶 Well not really, they are actually 1000 props with vertex animations. I was curious how it would work. I used an Unreal Engine plugin Vertex Animation Toolkit and adjusted it to output 2K textures. You can load in multiple animations and bake into 1 Vertex Animation Texture array. In this case 2 idle and 2 walk animations. Using Verse to play random animations and walk to random locations. FPS drops a bit at 1000 props, i could play with distance culling. Nanite needs to be turned off, somehow it breaks the mesh on close up. Can’t wait for 1000 player servers lol #UEFN #FortniteCreative

Here we have the iPhone 13 at 60hz vs S23 Ultra at 120hz. Notice the S23 Ultra has smoother transitions but the animations are bad because of it being non-linear. There's a difference between refresh rate and animations. Sure iPhone looked smooth because of the animations, but the S23 Ultra had more frames in the animations because of the higher refresh rate. But then Samsung messed up with its linear animations. Hopefully, with one UI 6, we see the non-linear animations coupled with 120hz.

The character pipeline is moving forward: animations are now working. I lost some time because Codex occasionally switched GPT-5.6 Sol back to Light/Medium by default, and the difference in task execution was immediately noticeable. After switching back to GPT-5.6 Sol Ultra, progress was much smoother. Using animations from Mixamo, the character can now idle, walk, run and jump. Next: shoes, skin variations and different body types. Then I need to decide what this project should become: • A character generator website? • A reusable Codex skill? • An open-source GitHub repo? What would be the most useful?

Just got back to it tonight and I got the rest of those animations all made up for the grab attack! I kept all the traces on here so we can see its attack range, and how its grab traces work too. So next I think it'll be time to get a death scene going for this guy!

If you're interested, you can take a look at my design thinking this time🤓： Overall: Improve combo flow between skills. Spiral Blow: Enhanced fire effects and added more actions to enrich combos. Chaotic Spring:Mixed cherry blossoms with flames ("flames bloom like flowers"). Adjusted actions to match animation logic: downward thrust → upward slash → triggers upward blast effect. Raiden Thrust：Strengthen the element of "raiden" in the skill name Lance Barrage: Improved lightning effects and dash+thrust animations. Heavens Thrust: Combined dragon crystal with lightning ("lightning-infused crystal"). Added a sweeping motion to set up future animations/effects. Fang and Claw:Added claw effects; used spinning thrusts to emphasize "fang" sharpness. Wheeling Thrust:Added dragon tail effect and made it heavy impact feel. Drakesbane: Combines fire, lightning, dragon, and spear concepts. Animations reference Black Myth: Wukong moves.

The Immortal (EA, 1990) was anything but immortal. Few games were tougher or killed you in more painful ways. Infamously difficult with no saves (just passwords), this action-adventure lets you control an elderly wizard (Gandalf, that you?) descending deeper into a dungeon labyrinth to rescue your mentor Mordamir - or so you think, until it turns out he’s actually a vengeful ancient dragon. Plot twist! It had excellent graphics and animations but was so very brutally hard, on the verge of "OMFG" and joystick thrown at the wall after the hundredth death. At least the death animations were epic...
