Avinatan Or's story is one of many. Today, we honor the survivors who shared their accounts and remember those who did not survive captivity. Unlike artillery shells, these rockets have a lifespan of 8-12 years until they are reconditioned and the propellant is replaced. In theory, this process can be repeated twice since other parts of the rocket would also degrade. Both Ukraine and Russia rushed to recondition their rockets, but many rockets over 30 years old were used in the war, causing failures like those seen in this video.
