Dalam speech-nya beliau mengatakan "Your filmography spans a wide range of genres with rare freedom. You’ve reinvented these genres with deep narrative vision and a singular aesthetic, blending traditional culture, and social commentary. Today, as a director, screenwriter, producer, and sometimes actor, you are one of the most influential Asian filmmakers of your generation. You’ve played a pivotal role in shaping a new wave of Indonesian cinema, showing that it is possible to combine artistic ambition with popular success." Beberapa seniman film yang pernah menerima Ordre des Arts et des Lettres termasuk David Lynch, Tim Burton, Pedro Almodóvar, Isabelle Huppert, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton. Gelar ini bagi saya bukan pencapaian pribadi, tapi merupakan bentuk pengakuan pemerintah Perancis terhadap kemajuan dan kontribusi para seniman Indonesia untuk dunia.

🚨🌃 MINSK AT NIGHT 🇧🇾 — THE SLAVIC CAPITAL EUROPE PRETENDS NOT TO SEE At night, Minsk reveals something increasingly rare in Europe: order, continuity, and historical confidence. This city is not a coincidence. It is the product of history — and of deliberate choices. Minsk is one of the most destroyed capitals of World War II. More than 80% of the city was wiped out during the German occupation. What followed was not random reconstruction, but a state-led rebuilding project that treated the capital as a symbol of survival, sacrifice, and Slavic endurance. Wide avenues, monumental facades, axial symmetry, and integrated public transport were not aesthetic accidents — they were political statements. The result is a city that still functions according to mid-20th-century urban logic: clarity, scale, and permanence. While many European capitals dismantled their historical cores through privatization, speculation, and “creative destruction,” Minsk preserved a centralized civic structure. Its metro, public spaces, and housing were built to serve residents first — not tourists, investors, or branding agencies. That is precisely why Minsk is controversial. Not because it is chaotic — but because it did not surrender its spatial identity after 1991. For critics, Minsk represents authoritarian stagnation. For supporters, it represents stability and sovereignty. For outsiders, it is uncomfortable because it contradicts the familiar narrative of post-Soviet collapse and disorder. The illuminated metro sign in the night is more than infrastructure. It is a remnant of a time when cities were built as long-term national projects, not short-term economic experiments. The monumental buildings along Independence Avenue are not nostalgia — they are reminders that Belarus chose continuity over rupture. Minsk does not ask to be liked. It does not rebrand itself every decade. It does not apologize for being Eastern, Slavic, or different. And in a Europe increasingly uneasy with history, memory, and statehood, that makes Minsk quietly subversive. These images are not propaganda. They are documentation. And what they document is a capital that still knows what it was built for. ⸻ Slavic Networks Independent coverage of Slavic regions, power, and identity. $WORLD CLASS PERFORMER V Do you know why, during that brilliant BTS performance, it was Kim Taehyung — among all the members — who took on specific responsibilities before the group's largest audience since their debut? V’s performance AT FIFA HALFTIME SHOW revealed an aspect of live performance that often goes unnoticed by the public: the cognitive complexity involved in executing last-minute changes without compromising artistic quality. #Taehyung demonstrates a rare ease when he needs to deviate from the script. He responds to the environment, the cameras, the audience, and last-minute adjustments with a spontaneity that never feels merely improvised, but rather organic. In these unpredictable moments, Taehyung seems to be in his element, revealing an artistic confidence that few performers can maintain under such pressure. For a vocalist, altering the distribution of a song's lines is one of the riskiest tasks imaginable. After years of performing a song the same way, musical and muscle memory become deeply ingrained. Breaking this pattern requires an exceptional level of concentration, as the brain must inhibit established responses and replace them with a new sequence — all while the performance is unfolding in real time. For the presentation of “Dynamite”, #V took on vocal parts that were not originally assigned to him and even altered the lyrics themselves. These changes were prepared in an incredibly short timeframe — just hours after he had performed the standard version of the song during the tour in Paris. In other words, his brain had to switch between two different versions of the same song on practically the same day, without letting one interfere with the other. The challenge was not merely vocal. He had to synchronize these new cues with highly precise choreography, stage blocking, camera positioning, interaction with the other members, movement across a vast stadium, and the pressure of singing entirely live before the planet's largest sports audience. All of this took place while his body was still bearing the physical and mental toll of an intense touring schedule. It is precisely this kind of situation that distinguishes a great singer from a world-class artist. Vocal technique must work in tandem with memory, motor coordination, spatial awareness, breath control, rhythm, interpretation, and the ability to adapt under pressure. A slight slip-up in the cue, singing a word from the old version, or a delay of a fraction of a second could have compromised the entire flow of the performance. None of that happened. #BTSV executed every change with absolute naturalness, as if that version had always existed. His vocals remained steady and powerful, his stage presence stayed magnetic, and his delivery exuded confidence from start to finish. At no point was the complexity of the task apparent to the audience. Paradoxically, this invisibility is one of the greatest indicators of technical excellence: when the extraordinary appears simple. And there is a detail that makes this feat even more significant. The section with the modified lyrics ended up becoming the most viral moment of the entire performance. It was the part replayed by media outlets, shared on social media, turned into thousands of videos, and remembered by audiences around the world. Yet, the significance of that moment went beyond technical execution. Taehyung achieved something rare: a cultural shift. His magnetism transcended languages, geographies, cultures, and different audience bubbles. The performance generated digital waves, emotional reactions, debates on performance art, a massive aesthetic impact, and completely organic viral reach. It was a historic performance because it simultaneously combined a supreme level of technical skill, immense artistic responsibility, and a cultural impact that continued to expand long after the show ended. Few artists manage to turn a performance into a global event. #KimTaehyung did.$

The Leather Lady of Mayfair — Video Version 👉 Manager Clotilde’s Notice — This short video brings to life one of the images from the collection The Leather Lady of Mayfair • Vol. VI, available on our Patreon. The Leather Lady of Mayfair Mayfair, London, 1884. This collection is a fantasy Vintage in Leather vision of late-Victorian elegance, imagined as a series of rare, impossible, beautifully preserved color photographs from the 1880s. At the heart of the project stands Lady Evelyn Ashcombe, an aristocratic woman whose presence quietly governs every room, carriage step, garden path, polished doorway, and private salon around her. She does not need to command loudly. She does not need to explain herself. Her rank, beauty, composure, and immaculate style are enough. Wherever she appears, others naturally make space, open doors, carry flowers, present gloves, adjust her dress, and attend to her with practiced devotion. Her signature image is unmistakable: a luxurious Victorian leather dress, a tightly sculpted bodice, a generous feminine bustline, an extremely narrow corseted waist, long black leather gloves disappearing beneath her sleeves, and high black Victorian lace-up boots hidden or revealed only when the moment allows. Lady Evelyn’s devotion to leather is not a single outfit, color, or passing costume. It is her private language of elegance, discipline, sensuality, and aristocratic self-possession. The result is not ordinary historical costume, but a refined VIL fantasy of late-Victorian fashion: leather shaped into ceremony, femininity, restraint, and noble presence. Across the project, her wardrobe may evolve in cut, shade, and detail, but the essence remains the same: Lady Evelyn wears leather as if it were made for rank, ritual, and quiet command. The project is not about vulgarity or spectacle. It is about poise. About a woman so composed that even the smallest gesture around her becomes formal. A footman waits. A maid adjusts. A shopwoman presents. A servant observes. Lady Evelyn simply accepts this attention as naturally as breathing. This is Victorian elegance seen through the lens of Vintage in Leather: aristocratic, mysterious, feminine, polished, and quietly powerful. In this sixth chapter, Lady Evelyn Ashcombe’s household changes once again. The previous chapter ended with something that would once have seemed almost impossible in Lady Evelyn Ashcombe’s household. Two maids who had crossed a forbidden line were forgiven. They remained in her service. Their affection for one another was no longer treated as an offence to be erased, and the beautiful black lace-up boots Lady Evelyn had given them became something more than a reward. The women wore them proudly, increasingly naturally, and soon even while attending their Lady. Lady Evelyn certainly did not object. A woman with such a pronounced weakness for leather and beautiful boots could hardly be expected to remain indifferent to the sight of her own maids moving through the house in them. But the gift was never merely for her own pleasure. The maids themselves had discovered something. What had at first felt extravagant and unfamiliar became increasingly natural. They learned the weight of the leather, the height of the shafts, the peculiar confidence of walking in something so beautiful and so unapologetically noticeable. Perhaps the fascination had always been somewhere inside them, waiting for permission to appear. By the beginning of this sixth chapter, the boots are no longer the novelty. They have become part of the household. And something else begins to change. Lady Evelyn has always understood the bond between her two maids. What began as attraction between them has grown into something sincere and deeply rooted. They genuinely love one another, and Lady Evelyn has no wish to weaken that bond. Instead, she begins to move closer to it. Not between them. Closer to them. The distance that once defined mistress and servants gradually becomes less absolute. A hand remains where etiquette says it should withdraw. A cheek is touched. A shoulder becomes a place to lean. A kiss is permitted, and eventually returned in its own quiet way. The two maids discover that their Lady’s interest in them is no longer merely amused curiosity or aesthetic approval. Lady Evelyn is attracted to them. And the feeling is returned. There is desire here, certainly. There is intimacy. There are moments of tenderness which would have been unthinkable within the formal architecture of the household only a short time before. But there is no secrecy between the three women, and no rivalry. The affection growing between Lady Evelyn and her maids does not ask the two women to betray what they already share with one another. Their own relationship remains intact. If anything, Lady Evelyn seems to protect it. She allows them to remain close in her presence. She watches their tenderness without resentment. She permits gestures which once would have been considered far too familiar during service, and gradually she begins to answer those gestures herself. For a woman who once seemed so cool, aristocratic, and nearly unreadable, this is perhaps the greater transformation. Lady Evelyn does not cease to be their Lady. She simply allows herself to become something more as well. The hierarchy remains. The uniforms remain. Their duties remain. Yet alongside service now exists trust. Alongside discipline, affection. Alongside the formal rituals of the house, a private language of glances, touches, embraces, and quiet permission begins to emerge. And Lady Evelyn, rather than resisting it, appears increasingly content to let it grow. Near the end of the chapter comes another gift. This time, not boots. Before taking the two women to an intimate private supper, Lady Evelyn gives each of them a pair of exquisite long black leather opera gloves. For the maids, accustomed to practical service clothing, the gloves represent another small entrance into their Lady’s world. They are luxurious, elegant, sensuous, and unmistakably chosen according to Lady Evelyn’s own taste. The evening itself passes quietly. There is no grand declaration. There does not need to be one. By now, the three women understand one another rather well. And when they return home, the gloves do not disappear into a drawer. Lady Evelyn allows, perhaps even quietly encourages, the maids to continue wearing them during service. So the final images of this chapter leave us with another subtle change in the household. The boots remain. Now the gloves join them. And the two maids, once separated from their Lady by layers of etiquette and rank, increasingly begin to carry something of her world upon themselves. Not because Lady Evelyn wishes to remake them in her own image. But because they have begun, willingly and happily, to share in what she loves. And perhaps that is the true direction of this chapter. Three women remain very different in position, temperament, and experience. Yet the distance between them continues to shrink. What began as permission becomes trust. What began as attraction becomes intimacy. And what began as a household ruled by perfect decorum is slowly becoming something far more complicated, far more private, and far more human. #vintageinleather #leatherboots #leatheroperagloves #vintageglamour #victorianera #victoriangown #maid
