Talarico: It should be troubling to all of us, regardless of our political affiliations or our political beliefs, that the most powerful people in the country, the most powerful politicians and the most powerful corporate executives are working together to sell out the first amendment, to sell out our freedom of speech in order to protect their own power and their own wealth. And that should be concerning to all of us, whether you're a Democrat or a Republican, whether you're a Progressive or Conservative, because an attack on any one of our first amendment rights is an attack on all of our first amendment rights.

JUST IN: The ACLU is suing Louisiana over Act 399, which prohibits interference with ICE operations there. ACLU Louisiana: "Act 399 criminalizes first amendment protected speech by essentially suggesting that if anyone were to delay, thwart or interfere with border patrol agents trying to effect arrests of individuals, they could be charged with a crime. And the reason why we believe that this is a first amendment violation is because the words delay or interfere or thwart are very vague. And we believe that the attorney general is using this vagueness to intimidate, threaten, and chill first amendment speech." Apparently deporting illegal immigrants is unconstitutional. That makes sense, right???

Remember all of the people who were claiming that Trump can’t be held liable for January 6th because of “free speech?” Well Judge Chutkan just slammed the door on that defense, saying: “It is well established that the First Amendment does not protect speech that is used as an instrument of a crime, and consequently the Indictment — which charges Defendant with, among other things, making statements in furtherance of a crime — does not violate Defendant’s First Amendment rights.” The judge also shot down Trump’s argument that he can’t be charged for actions taken during his presidency, saying: “"Defendant’s four-year service as Commander in Chief did not bestow on him the divine right of kings to evade the criminal accountability that governs his fellow citizens."
