In elementary and secondary education, the institution chooses the student, and the student has to adapt. Choice and competition is what makes the difference. This is Cory’s story. He was a Vietnamese refugee and he was the tallest in year 7 and one of the shortest in year 12. Why? Because he was 5 years older than the rest of us. His mum changed his age because she knew how important education was, and she didn’t want him to miss out. I don’t want any kids to miss out. That’s why we’re fixing the funding of our public schools and tying it to real reform. It’s what Labor Governments do. Unlike the Liberals who rip the guts out of public education.
