Thousands of young black men have made millions from making music packed with that word. It is a racist word two ways: its a racial slur, against black people, but the only word in the entire dictionary that only black people are allowed to say, which is also racist, by its very nature. The perceived harm from 2 multimillionares because they got their feelings hurt by an unintentional use of a word, compared to the life John has lead, is laughable. Grow up.

@JohnAmaechi You’re comparing what happened to John with a misfiring gun? Tourette’s is Tourette’s. It’s incomparable. Stop this, it is in fact John who needs defending from the likes of you and as for the BBC, I couldn’t give a toss for that lot.

Every one at the BAFTA awards was informed and warned before the event that the person who the award winning film was about was there and had been ticking with uncontrollable speech. To continue to attack and incite against this disabled person is a Disability hate crime. The BBC are also culpable for not editing the speech knowing that the person with Tourette syndrome and the black award winners would have been open to abuse.

@JohnAmaechi If John Amaechi wants a fulsome apology for the harm to the men on the stage, I presume he is just as passionate about an apology for the harm to John Davidson from the people in the auditorium now his statement has been released?

There’s something quite disgusting really about your demand for an apology for the ‘impact’ of his words. You want to sentence a man to walking about for the rest of his life apologising every two minutes, effectively. This lack of understanding is no doubt why so many people with this condition commit suicide. No doubt you didn’t intend to add that sort of pressure to sufferers, but it’s the impact that matters, isn’t it.

Man, I tell you, some black people make an entire successful living out of stretching this persecution complex and the whole ‘the world is against us’ narrative. First you all attacked John Davidson until social media rightly fought back to defend him. Now the narrative has changed to instead attack the BBC and shame Davidson as part of it all despite the man having a condition so bad that they’ve made a movie about it. He even issued his apology. The collective emotional breakdown from the global ‘black community’ over a hurty word is quite hilarious to observe. Especially when modern black ‘culture’ is essentially built on this very word. When black people aren’t rapping about their hoes or money or drugs, they’re calling themselves and every other black person the magic hurty word, which is all fine and good. But when a ‘cracker’ or ‘white bitch’ says it, even involuntarily, the somber, pained expressions are put on, and the tales of 400 years of slavery come out. Such pain, such sorrow. Anyway, let’s all step back, take a breath and relax, maybe listening to the soothing beats of Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz will help calm these shattered nerves…

@JohnAmaechi I'm hearing he had been ticking throughout the event so presumably insulted a few people. In televising those tics, *and not the others*, what the BBC/BAFTA appears to have done is USE the trauma of black people to make a point about Mr Davidson's condition.

@JohnAmaechi You choose to take offence. How we feel about something is within our control. If they were offended then they are uneducated about Tourette’s. Being offended by someone’s disability is much worse than the disabled person saying a word involuntarily.
