When you raise your max sprint, your sub max efforts are now at your previous max sprint. You get in shape for this test by SPRINTING. This test can show you exactly where you stand. How much can you give for one 12 play drive? And every time we run this test, can you challenge yourself to give a little bit more? Special Shoutout to our Summer Intern Joel for putting his money where his mouth is and testing himself before camp! Looking forward to watching him have a dominant season!

Time under tension does not build muscle. You can move as slowly as you like. Control every millimetre. Turn a six-rep set into a 60-second ceremony. The muscle does not respond to the clock. On this, my birthday… I thank God for a year, though with more challenges than victories, that taught me lessons hidden in pain, in loss, in struggle. For showing me that taking a noble stand, even if it costs you, even when you’re criticized, is far better than living safe, silent, and untested. I Thank God for a year that built grit in so many of us and taught us more about the invincible power of not giving up. For the humbling truth that no one person can save the world but we all can serve in it - especially in small acts. Daily kindness. And maybe that’s how the world heals, not all at once, but a million times over. Thank you for reminding me, in a long year, to hold onto wonder, joy and even fun - as defiance, as resistance, as restoration in the long fight. And this year… thank you for a love that changed my life, for a wife who brought with her a universe of joy, and a partner to walk with, day by day, turning the ordinary into something sacred. The last time I, Cara was out to visit Scott and April, Scott asked me what it meant when I told him I identified as a brat. A brat is a label in a kink dynamic. They are usually a sub (submissive), but they rarely ever just do what is asked of them. They often make it a challenge for the Dom and require a lot of wit and banter to engage with them. Want me to stay hydrated? I’ll send you a video of water dribbling out of my mouth. Picked out an outfit for me to wear? I’ll wear something very similar. Tell me you’re in a meeting? I’ll send you a picture of my… whoopsie! Over the years I’ve discovered that being a BRAT can help you navigate injuries in your workouts. Brats are: Putting an emphasis on fun. Always pushing it. Finding the edges of what you can do without going too far. When working with an injury or limitation in the gym you want those things. Finding movement that brings you joy can be instrumental during a time when you may feel as if your body is failing you. Pushing things just enough to constantly challenge yourself will allow you to not get stuck in corrective exercises and make consistent progress.
