Real ID… a real disaster!

It been in place for 20 years with no enforcement. NOW they decide to enforce it and you come out against it.

I have been an outspoken opponent for a long time, as Real ID infringes on our rights!

Bad take, you know who can't get a real ID? Illegal aliens. It's worth it just for that.

There is hardly any difference between getting a standard drivers license versus a real ID. Its been around for 20 years and its easy to get. Given the fact that we have been infiltrated by millions of non-citizens who have been handed drivers licenses and social security numbers, what is your plan for invalidating this type of documentation that should have never been given to non-citizens if you don't use Real ID to verify citizenship? What is your idea to clean up this mess?

In Texas it is automatic. Everyone with an ID or DL has Real ID.

Just put in the effort to get either a Real ID or a Passport. We’ve all had 20 years to do it. It isn’t a big deal and please don’t make a mountain out of this mole hill. 🙄

I'm so confused as to why anyone thinks that real id's infringe when it's basically providing the same info as a normal driver's licence. Only thing new is the birth certificate, and proof a any name change (ie marriage). I have yet to hear a legitimate answer as to why the kerfuffle.

Where do you get you false information? It is not an infringement on anything. Who told you how many Mainers have a Real ID? You have access to every federal Real ID issuer? Bet not. I got mine from Sup Ship at BIW. This makes your push for Voter ID suspect.
