Why not have the bot pull the weed once it recognizes it instead of spraying a chemical?

Great question! We actually are working on some low cost arms to attempt this ... but even with just herbicide you can use way less efficient organic solutions with a robot. Human labor requires toxic solutions to optimize for time.

And targeted vegetable garden fertilization!? Use infrared to see which plants are less green than expected and give them a micro fertilizer dose. That would be see cool in combo with the weed sprayer.
