Here's the all-22 view of this play. Yes, Johnson is open initially, but even from a clean pocket that ball is going to have to be in the air for a long time. This is from today's #WCWS game. This was ruled a base hit when it happened (you can see the 'H' pop up), but was changed to a missed catch error by the first baseman at the bottom of the fourth. This is an impossible catch for the first baseman with a ball thrown from that angle, that hard. This throw has to be to the glove, and while it's not a wild throw, it's low enough that the first baseman cannot get her glove around it in time. This is where replay gets you in trouble. The slo-mo replay makes it look like it's a catchable ball, but it isn't. In real time, at live speed, this isn't an error. This isn't a missed catch or a drop. I was loving the call of a single, especially because it was the first hit, and then, when it was changed, it felt like it was to protect a no-hitter. Everything about this screams "above ordinary effort" ... I would have left this as a single.

it will be bad for Eben, and correctly so. reason is that he actually get his hands and fingers around the eye area of Alex Mann 4 different times. the clip below is not repeating footage , it is the sequence as it happened. you can see after the first eye contact , he follow it up with more hands at the eyes. so while he is maybe not "gouging" in the most hard core sense of it, there is clear intent to mess with Mann's eyes. yes people making the point that he was victim to the same thing at the previous ruck which is why he is doing this, but that is irelevant. Intentional contact with eyes ranges from 12 weeks (low end) to 18 weeks to 24 weeks (top end) very disappointing from him😢

"So the religious Zionism thing I think is a little different if you're talking about what were once an extremist group in Judaism. But you know, obviously it's expanded, expanded since then. "But I definitely want to make it very clear that I don't think all Jews fall in this category even remotely. But there is, you know, this particular faction that's very obsessed with hastening the end times. But there's also a group of Christians that's very obsessed with that. It's just sort of the history of how that developed on both sides and the idea that these groups have opportunistically used each other, and they don't necessarily like each other. "But they opportunistically use each other to, to try and hasten the same end times. But they think the end times will have different outcomes, obviously. "And actually the Christian version of that, the Christian Zionist–believed outcome of the end times, has been criticized as being deeply anti-Semitic, ironically enough.
