The Dallas Police Department’s new Drone as First Responder program officially launched today with eight remotely piloted drones based at Dallas Fire-Rescue stations across the City of Dallas. These drones are operated out of the Fusion/Real Time Crime Center and are designed to respond to calls for service in a two-mile radius from their base station. The base locations were selected based on heat maps of calls for service for both police and fire, placing them where they can potentially respond to the greatest number of calls. The pilots will be able to get to the scene quicker than in a squad car and begin to provide real-time intelligence and feedback to officers, as well as reduce the level of response or clear a call entirely if the incident has resolved. If a pilot sees a call in a drone’s response area where aerial intelligence can enhance officer safety, they can deploy a drone to provide critical updates to officers at the scene. Each drone is equipped with a thermal camera to help during nighttime operations, as well as a loudspeaker to make announcements to individuals on the ground. “I challenged our team to find innovative ways to continue improving our response times, and this new drone unit will not only keep officers free to respond to more calls, but provide real time updates as they are responding to calls,” said Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux. “Even during our training, our pilots were able to clear three holding calls in an hour with one drone. That alone proved their value to us, and I’m looking forward to seeing the benefits in both officer safety and response times.” Our public safety partners at Dallas Fire-Rescue will also be utilizing the Drone as First Responder program, with training for pilots underway. Under the new program, in the event of a reported structure fire, a drone will be dispatched to the scene ahead of arriving apparatus. This real-time aerial perspective will allow incident command to assess the size, scope, and intensity of a fire before firefighters even step off the apparatus. “Dallas Fire-Rescue is proud to collaborate with DPD on any initiative that will make our city safer,” said Justin Ball, Chief of Dallas Fire-Rescue. “By strategically docking the drones at our fire stations in high-demand areas, we are optimizing our response times and ensuring our tactics are more precise, while adding an extra layer of protection for the city.” This collaborative partnership between police and fire departments represents a major step forward in using smart-city technology to protect both residents and first responders.

Quarterback FF/PM Jay Weber calls an audible, and KOBE is rescued by Receiver FF/EJ Nave in a stunning play! 🏈 The play starts with canine KOBE falling into the Bay and getting stuck, with nowhere to go for help, but the rescue team isn't having it. They lure him back to the bay with a clever tactic, and it's Rescue Boat 35 to the rescue! Rescue Swimmer FF/EJ Nave deployed, buoy secured, Kobe is brought back to safety! The crowd goes wild as Kobe reunites with his human companion, tired but grateful for the excellent care from #YOURSFFD and his owner. *FINAL PLAY:* Kobe's safe, sound, and home with his family. Incident closed! 😎 ——————————————————— At 2:30 PM today, the San Francisco Fire Department received multiple 911 calls about a dog that had fallen off a pier near McCovey Cove. The fire department’s land and marine rescue teams arrived swiftly and met with the owner, who reported that her dog had jumped into the water after chasing a bird. With no way to escape, the dog was swimming frantically and becoming increasingly exhausted. The SFFD Paramedic Rescue Boat 35 (RB35) operated by Firefighter/Paramedic Jay Weber, located the dog, named Kobe, underneath a pier. Using voice commands, the rescue boat was able to lure Kobe to open water and deployed a rescue swimmer FF/EJ Nave. RB35 secured a buoy around the dog and brought him back to the boat. Kobe was then reunited with his owner and received care from the SFFD and his human. He is now home safe and resting with his family. Incident closed!

The robots are here and they fly. Today at Ascend, we announced: • R10 - a breakthrough indoor drone that uses AI and autonomy to get into the most dangerous places so people don’t have to. • F10 - a prototype Robotic Takeoff and Land (RTOL) drone that will unlock long-range, long-endurance, high-speed missions. It will eventually put all the landmass on Earth within reach of an autonomous, Docked drone. Imagine having all of our transportation and energy networks instantly accessible, or being able to get eyes on scene for every emergency, any natural disaster, immediately, anywhere. • Continued evolution of our AI software to make X10 multi-drone native so one operator can command many drones, and the robots work for us rather than the other way around. • Myriad other improvements to our hardware and software to make them more capable, more reliable, and more useful, for more people. From small FPVs to large UAVs, millions of unmanned systems are set to be inducted into the Indian armed forces in the next 5 years. 🇮🇳 Details- 🔽 The Indian Army sits at the centre of this shift. Over 1,00,000 drone operatives have already been trained & are being equipped with FPV strike drones, swarm systems, loitering munitions & long range UAVs. Dedicated Shaktibaan Regiments will anchor large scale unmanned warfare, while Ashni platoons are being embedded across 385 infantry battalions. light commando forces like Bhairav will also employ unmanned systems for ISR, targeting & precision strike. - Indian Air force is already doing mass induction of unmanned platforms for long range ISR, deep strike, ew & special missions, integrating UAVs into both peacetime surveillance & high intensity conflict situations. - Indian Navy is also rapidly transitioning towards unmanned ops across the maritime domain, with large numbers of airborne, surface & underwater unmanned systems planned for maritime surveillance, ASW, mine countermeasures & strike support roles. - The Indian Coast Guard will increasingly depend on unmanned systems for persistent maritime domain awareness, EEZ monitoring, coastal security & search & rescue missions. Apart from this, paramilitary & central armed police forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs are also set to induct unmanned systems at scale for border surveillance, CI, internal security, convoy protection & urban ops needs. When combined- • Small FPV & short-range drones • Swarm systems • Loitering munitions of varying ranges • Long-range ISR & strike UAVs • Ground based unmanned systems • Underwater unmanned platforms • Unmanned Surface Vessels Will be in service with the Indian forces. Dozens of dedicated tech & warfare centres have already been established to train soldiers across 30+ niche & emerging technologies. A large scale effort is underway to train troops in drone ops, cyber warfare, Ai & EW. This is being backed by advanced infra, embedded R&D units & simulation based training facilities, with a stated objective of complete absorption of these technologies across force by 2030. India is realistically looking at well over a million+ new unmanned systems in service over the next 5 years.
