It's appalling that anyone would attempt to recall a senator who has done so much good for the people. This paper says the answer might actually be 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩. My colleagues at Weaviate released IRPAPERS, a benchmark comparing 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 and 𝘁𝗲𝘅𝘁-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 retrieval over 3,230 pages from 166 scientific papers. The setup: Take the same PDFs and process them two ways. For text, run OCR with GPT-4.1 and embed with Arctic 2.0 + BM25 hybrid search. For images, embed raw page images with ColModernVBERT multi-vector embeddings. Test both on 180 needle-in-the-haystack questions. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀: Text edges out images at the top rank: 46% vs 43% Recall@1 But images match or exceed text at deeper recall: 93% vs 91% Recall@20 But text and image based methods actually fail on 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘁 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴. Residents of the small San Joaquin Valley city of Avenal, California are furious They voted in April to recall the majority of their city council, but the city council members are refusing to leave office Over 75% of voters approved recalling all four officials. Kings County certified the results in May Voters targeted Mayor Alvaro Preciado and Councilmembers Leticia Gamez, David Reynosa, and Pablo Hernandez. 4 of the 5 council seats The city leaders who are refusing to leave are saying the recall was conducted unlawfully by Kings County Elections instead of the city itself and lacked proper city authorization So they wanted to be able to give authorization for a vote to remove them…. Sure…… I looked into this and verified they should all be removed. Under California law, the recalled Avenal officials should be removed from office California’s recall process is governed by the California Constitution (Article II, Sections 13-19) and the California Elections Code (Division 11, §§ 11000 et seq.). Once a recall election is properly held and a majority votes “Yes” to recall an official, that official is removed from office upon certification of the results (Elections Code §11384) The election was conducted by Kings County, the county elections official, which is standard procedure for local recalls when the city does not handle it itself. The law clearly outlines the processes required for a recall to be valid. The first step we took was to verify whether the signatures met the threshold, regardless of whether they were forged or genuine. On LBC, I said David Bull’s suggestion that Nigel Farage should take a break may have come from concern, but politically it exposes a much bigger question. What happens to Reform if events move beyond Farage’s control? He is a gifted communicator. Nobody denies that. But beyond communication, there has to be something worth communicating. If the Standards process escalates, if there is a suspension, if there is a recall petition, Reform comes under immense pressure. That is the danger of building a party so heavily around one man.

It did stop confidently making things up as frequently. As we scaled the experiment, we got early access to Silico from Goodfire & asked it to check our work. It designed its own tests, ran them overnight, & saw: • Fewer false claims + more faithful citations • Higher precision + recall • Better planning and process Cost us about $ 2-3k in credits. THIS 👇 is what healing looks like….2 years ago, I could barely recall this story without breaking down in tears and emotion. I’ve talked about it numerous times since then, with those who were there and on stage in front of an audience. Everytime I tell it, it gets a little easier. I process it a little more….and now I can tell this story without breaking down in tears. I haven’t forgotten the emotion of the event, I’m not a robot or have become immune…I have PROCESSED it and HEALED. The more you talk about your trauma, whatever that may be, the more you will heal…I promise….i did it. 🫶

Do you recall Trump stating changing the financial system within the U.S. borders? That goes hand in hand with the elections and voting security. “Many Americans aren’t aware that behind the scenes technical backbone of the financial system is decades out of date. Payments and money transfer are costly and take days or weeks to even clear. The entire financial system will be eligible for a 21st century upgrade using the state of the art crypto technology” They’ve just told you that they’re moving their elections process on-chain to prevent a situation like the 2020’s election again.
