This Tuktuk was stopped by NTSA and traffic police officers while carrying eight passengers instead of the recommended four on the Kisumu-Nairobi Road. Needless to say it was dangerously overloaded. I hope the cyclist, who fled the scene, will be made to face justice for his reckless behaviour. To all passengers, please don't encourage this kind of unsafe road behaviour by keeping quiet. Protest when you see a bus driver or a Tuktuk cyclist starting to overload. Let's stop risking lives on our roads. Remember that road safety is everyone's responsibility.

Reasi bus accident | SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma says, "Initial reports suggest that terrorists fired upon the passenger bus going from Shiv Khori to Katra. Due to the firing, the bus driver lost balance of the bus and it fell into gorge. 33 people were injured in the incident. Rescue operation has been completed. But we had never thought that this could happen to our vehicle. We used to hear of things like this in Kashmir but this area was safe. We never thought that this could happen to us. As soon as the bus left in the morning, we received a call at 5 o'clock that there had been firing on our vehicle...When we did a little investigation, we came to know that it was an attack by militants...Passengers told us that the militant got into the bus and told the driver to make the passengers deboard the bus. Driver sensed that the man was a militant. He refused to make the passengers deboard, he sped up the bus. As soon as he sped up the bus, the militant fired a bullet. The bus lost balance but the driver kept driving. When the driver didn't stop, he (militant) shot him in the head and killed him...Then the conductor took hold of the steering. As soon as he did that, the militant shot 3-4 bullets at the conductor too. He killed them both. The bus lost balance and fell into a gorge. Had the driver not shown a presence of mind, no passenger would have survived. They might have even set the bus on fire. The driver did good and sacrificed himself for the 40 passengers."

Pune: The arrogance of private travel operators in Pune and their habit of playing with passengers’ lives just won’t stop. The engine of a ‘Sangitam Travels’ bus heading from Pune to Bhusawal suddenly failed, leaving small children, women, and elderly passengers stranded for two hours in the dark of night in the Moshi area. What’s absolutely infuriating is that after the engine failed mid-journey, the driver made a shocking admission: "This bus was already at the Moshi workshop for maintenance." That means a bus that was already faulty was deliberately put on the road, risking passengers’ lives! Taking advantage of the weekend and holidays, Sangitam Travels charged passengers exorbitant fares as usual. But after the bus broke down, the company made no alternative arrangements to take passengers forward. On a deserted road at night, the travel company owners have taken no responsibility for passenger safety. Despite repeated attempts by passengers to contact the travel company’s office and lodge complaints, the distressed travelers have directly alleged that they received no help from there. This video was captured by a male friend of mine who drives but not into Glasgow where he works instead he uses public transport. Allegedly a female bus driver in Glasgow has been attacked. Earlier today in Maasai Mara National Reserve, a powerful bull elephant was forced to turn back after attempting to cross the heavily flooded Sand River. The strong current and rising water levels made the crossing too dangerous, even for such a massive animal. This serves as a clear reminder to all driver guides and visitors that rivers can become extremely unpredictable during the rains.
