I joined officers from 43 Division in Scarborough for a ride-along to see the work they do up close. At a local strip mall, every shop owner knew the Neighbourhood Community Officers’ names. “We always get help.” That trust makes communities safer. We’re expanding the NCO model with the Toronto Police, including on the TTC. Alongside mental health workers, outreach teams, and special constables, they’re working together to prevent crime and provide help when it’s needed. It’s working. We’re building a safer Toronto. Closed late from work and getting to DBS Junction Asaba I encountered these officers. I stepped down from my car and decided to switch on my camera while one of the officers search my car. The officer refused to search insisting I switched off my phone camera. One told his colleagues that I am the one that handled the Abraka police case where millions were recovered from DCO. He also stated that I am against always against the police and I responded to him. Dear Nigeria Police Force , your men on social media are different from the ones on our roads, they are not aware of your several warning that making a video is not a crime. The Orlando Police Department is currently investigating a shooting that occurred in Downtown Orlando, resulting in multiple victims. On 11/01/2024, at approximately 1:07 a.m., officers responded to reports of shots fired at Central Blvd. and Orange Ave. Within minutes, a second shooting was witnessed by officers south of Washington Street on Orange Avenue. A total of 8 victims were shot. Tragically, 2 individuals have been pronounced deceased. The remaining 6 victims were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center (ORMC) in stable condition. The ages of the victims range from 19 to 39-years-old. Shortly after the initial shots were reported, a suspect was located by officers on OPD’s Downtown Detail and taken into custody at Washington St. and Orange Ave. That suspect has been identified as 17-year-old Jaylen Dwayne Edgar, who was previously arrested for Grand Theft in 2023. In light of this tragic incident, the Orlando Police Department would like to remind the community that safety is our top priority. Nearly 100 officers were patrolling Downtown at the time of the shooting, due to the large crowd expected on Halloween. The Orlando Police Department is also assessing the need for increased patrols Downtown this weekend. This is all the information we have available at this time.
