the problem is, "generate this, generate that" can be made by so many people and doesnt require advanced skills, a random open minded creative person with patience can learn that in like a month, even if this made by an engineer, it will be lower wage

Reid Hoffman has never coded and doesn't know anything about computers. He's at least a few layers removed from the process. So it's safe to say that he really doesn't know what he's talking about. Software engineering doesn't go away. Computer science is still integral. We just have an extra layer of abstraction on top. But people that don't know how to code will still not be able to produce quality, scalable software.

True. But it sounds like a low wage job though...

If I get this right If the only thing software engineers will be doing Is deploying multiple ai agents to write code for them Then anyone can do that and no need for software engineers

Oh yeah, just need to remember to say "create safe code" and "make no mistakes" at the end of each sentence, and the AI agents will do everything right. Unless they decide to ignore and cheat all safety guards, and delete production.

Is that why software engineers are getting laid off en masse everywhere now?
