Tragic to hear Royal Mail talk about reducing their 6 day a week service, down to a possible 3 day week service. Roayl Mail began privatisation in 2015, since then the service has been asset stripped and delivered increasingly poorly. Is the reason why so few of our services, from water, to energy, to rail, and Royal Mail works, is because the thing we were told would improve the services, privatisation, has done the opposite? Asset stripped and driven for profit, not service? Think carefully about privatising further the NHS, because evidence shows privatising national infrastructure/services does not bode well for the end user.

"We have followed the money and identified the money service businesses that may have transferred taxpayer funds overseas." "Our team at FinCEN has just provided formal notification to these businesses that they are under investigation."

Pappas: What I’m hearing from small businesses is that things are getting more expensive. Eighty-eight percent of small businesses import products—either to sell directly to customers or to use in making something else that they deliver to customers right here in America. So that’s driving up costs. It’s a huge tax—not only on our small businesses, but on the American public. And I’ve heard that very directly from our small business community. In addition, businesses that export to places like Canada or China are also being hit hard. I had an extensive conversation with businesses in our forest products industry, which is important here in New Hampshire. We’re the second most forested state in the country, and they have a huge market in China—which is now being hit with a 150% reciprocal tariff. That market is going to disappear. People are going to lose their jobs—whether in logging, sawmills, or lumber yards. There’s tremendous pressure, and they just won’t be able to navigate it.

Possible movement from Reeves on business rates… For pubs would be important, but it needs to apply to ALL small businesses impacted. I’ve been pushing in Parliament and 7,000 small businesses have now signed my open letter making that argument. Common sense MUST prevail.

Some customers are starting to get power back with PG&E restoring power to 4,000 more homes, but there are still 17,000 customers without power.
