As I walked into the Dunbar Vocational High School All-Class Reunion Picnic on Saturday, I saw Mayor police is a sickness Johnson ,leaving with part of his police security detail. As a candidate for Mayor of Chicago, moments like this remind me of the difference between those who govern from behind a security detail and those of us who are out walking with the people, listening to citizens, business owners, and families in every neighborhood. Just days earlier, Mayor Johnson signed an executive order creating another Office of Gun Violence Reduction. Meanwhile, police officers hands are tied, Chicago families continue to deal with shootings, carjackings, robberies, and violence in their neighborhoods. Chicago doesn't need another office. Chicago needs leadership that delivers results. As Mayor, I will focus on reductions in crime, transparent government, forensic audits, accountability for every taxpayer dollar, and restoring public safety in every neighborhood, not just during election season. The people of Chicago deserve a mayor who spends less time creating new layers of BS and more time making our communities safe again. WATCH: Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson responds to critics of his push for more debt at Chicago Public Schools, the largest municipal junk bond issuer in the country. “You put a Black man in charge of a city and all of a sudden everybody wants to be an accountant.” Yesterday a majority of City Council members signed a letter opposing Johnson’s push for more borrowing, including 10 members of Chicago’s Aldermanic Black Caucus. The SEIU is also opposed, as higher borrowing costs will likely lead to layoffs for their members. The school board is scheduled to vote later today on the CPS budget. Johnson wants that budget to include a $200M high-interest loan in order to fund a one-time pension payment from the schools to the city. The district’s chief budget officer said that borrowing would trigger a “downward spiral” of credit downgrades, higher borrowing costs, and cuts to the classroom. The reckless borrowing of the past is not a justification for reckless borrowing today.

Make no mistake, the Chicago Bears were CHASED out of Illinois by the Democratic establishment in Springfield and Chicago. And at a time when the value of the Bears is skyrocketing (Caleb Williams and his team are going vertical 🏈). This is what socialism does to a city. An economic and cultural titan has been lost. It seemed impossible for even Illinois to fumble this. But Covid lockdowns seemed impossible too. Supporting BLM riots and Teen Takeovers seemed impossible in the past too. Until it wasn’t. Illinois has a choice to make as it barrels toward bankruptcy. Continue with the path of socialist destruction or make a major pivot in who is supported and elected.

OBED SILAHLIWE, HEIDELBERG: Residents of Obed Silahliwe in Heidelberg are pleading for urgent law enforcement intervention amid escalating tensions over housing allocations. According to the community, lawful beneficiaries who were officially allocated RDP houses by the housing department have already occupied their homes. However, it is alleged that contractors involved in the project are attempting to place their own people into houses that have already been allocated. Police are on the hunt for more CIT Robbery suspects following yesterday’s shootout in Laudium, west of Pretoria. Six suspects were shot dead and one was arrested on the “Military Road.” Police seized two vehicles (one hijacked) and four firearms and ammunition. The gang has been linked to a CIT robbery in nearby Atteridgeville last week and they were planning to rob another cash van. They were intercepted en-route to a safehouse at Mahpral Heights in Himalaya Street Laudium. A heavy shootout ensued with police. The possibly that the gang could be involved in others crimes is under investigation. More arrests are expected. Multiple police units and private security were involved in the breakthrough. This is a formal warning to the City of Chicago City of Chicago and to the entities that operate Daley Plaza Daley Center, Public Building Commission and Transwestern. The Serbian community has deep roots in this city since its earliest days. Chicagoland is home to the largest Serbian community outside of Serbia and the Balkans. We are a huge, longstanding, and proud community in this city and we will not accept being disregarded or insulted. Without any consultation with our community, a decision was made to raise the flag of the terrorist and criminal “Republic of Kosovo” at Daley Plaza. This is an occupied territory that remains deeply painful for the Serbian people as this land is the centerpiece of our religion, culture and identity. For our community, this act is not symbolic or fun, it is a political statement that directly insults us. This action is unacceptable. If this terrorist flag of so called Republic of Kosovo is raised again in our city without dialogue or consideration of our community, you should expect a highly visible public protest at levels you’ve never seen before. We demand that this issue be addressed immediately. Engage with our community. Show respect for the people who have built this city. Do not repeat this mistake. Do not think to insult us like this ever again.

As we continue to build that momentum, we need to make sure that San Franciscans feel the benefits and can continue to raise their kids in this incredible city. We need to build housing, we need to create jobs, and we need to keep bringing people back downtown, our front door to the world and the economic engine for our city. That’s why today I am proud to announce the BUILD Act with Supervisor Bilal Mahmood—a legislative package that will unlock stalled housing projects and create thousands of good union jobs. The BUILD Act will reform the transfer tax to incentivize investment in these housing projects and buildings downtown—stimulating new jobs for electricians, plumbers, and laborers. And we will put forward a ballot measure in November to ensure that transfer tax is paid on properties in foreclosure so we can offset revenue impacts. Our politicians used to take our workers and our families for granted. But those politicians are gone, and those days are over. We are now creating the conditions for our city’s success. By passing the BUILD Act, we will take the next step, creating the jobs and building the housing that San Franciscans deserve.

GUYS!! NIGERIA, AEDC, AND TINUBU HAPPENED TO MY SMALL COMMUNITY IN LUGBE YESTERDAY!!!😥 For almost 3 years since I built my small hut in this community, we have been battling with epileptic power situation due to the overloaded Transformer which has been serving 3 communities including mine. In December 2025, after myself and a few community members spearheaded a regime change and ensured a proper election was conducted. After the election, we told the newly elected chairman (who happens to be my very very good friend) that the priority is for us to get our own dedicated Transformer for the community. Initially, we were thinking of buying. But considering it will cost over N20million to buy a 500KVA Transformer and another N15million plus for accessories and installation, the mission looked impossible. Then I and others told the Chairman that we can actually give it a try an reach out to the aedcelectricity for a Transformer given that the NERC Nigeria has told Nigerians that it is the responsibility of the DISCOs to provide Transformer and any power related infrastructure to any community or area in need of such infrastructure. Considering the Nigerian factor, many, infact, almost the entire community said it was never going to be possible for AEDC to give us a Transformer free of charge. But as someone who has been an advocate of government and who has always benefited from government by following due process, I encouraged my community and the Chairman that this is actually worth a try. In January 2026, we drafted a Transformer request letter and submitted to the AEDC Head Office at Wuse Zone 4, and the processes began. Low and behold, in less than 4 months, the AEDC, yesterday, delivered a brand new 500KVA Transformer with complete accessories to my community FREE-OF-CHARGE!🤸‍♂️🕺 I have told my community people that we have started benefitting our own share of the N3.3trillion approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to GENCOs and all of us have agreed that come 2027, it is TINUBU OR NOTHING!!!🤗💪🏾 God bless the AEDC! I strongly condemn the brutal and unjustified lathi charge on our Hindu brothers who were peacefully protesting at the sacred Matha Muthyallamma Temple in Secunderabad. It is deeply disturbing that when our religious sentiments are attacked and idols desecrated, we are not even allowed to raise our voices in a peaceful manner. The real question is: who ordered this lathi charge? Those responsible for desecrating the temple should be facing action, not the devotees who seek justice. Why is it that Hindus are always taken for granted? This is a clear example of the Congress party's appeasement politics, where the concerns of the majority are consistently ignored. We demand accountability and justice for this attack on our faith, and we will not be silenced.
