What a beautiful speech and what a beautiful person. Sad thing is it seems like 100 years ago that this style of Statesman was President.

President Obama spoke so eloquently about American values and how our allies to the north means so much to us. My god how far we’ve fallen is an utter disgrace.

Obama had the ability to use diplomacy to achieve his objectives. He knew how to treat his friends & allies by pushing American values & objectives with charm, respect, humour. He was respected & loved by millions worldwide - he still is Trump can never aspire to any of this.

I remember this speech and my hope and pride as we moved forward together with the US. As I listened to it now I felt sadness at the changes brought by Trump and associates. We now have different paths and the alliance has broken. Canada will stand strong and true!
