I’m curious: Why would it matter much, if at all, to be locked down (as opposed to evacuated from major cities) during an extinction-level event.

A. They needed the roadways empty, so they could respond to an impact quickly. B. We put the planes in storage, so they wouldn't be hit while airborne.
