Remember when people claimed iPhone’s 60Hz felt as smooth as Android’s 120Hz? 😭 Now try handing them a 60Hz iPhone after using 120Hz for a while. The difference is huge. And I would still say Android 120hz is way smoother compared to iPhones.

There's a difference between refresh rate and animations. Sure iPhone looked smooth because of the animations, but the S23 Ultra had more frames in the animations because of the higher refresh rate. But then Samsung messed up with its linear animations. Hopefully, with one UI 6, we see the non-linear animations coupled with 120hz.

Don't confuse the elegance and fluency of animation. For example, the animation of iOS 18 is still elegant, but it is not smooth. Anyone can feel that iOS 18 still limits the refresh rate of most scenes to 80Hz. For Android users who are used to 120Hz, iOS 18 looks really not smooth. This is why it is difficult for me to use iPhone 16 Pro Max as the main mobile phone.

Used my friend's iPad 10th Gen and the animations are phenomenal as expected but that 60hz is 🤢 idk how people find this acceptable especially on the iPad Air. Idk why but 60hz has become far more intolerable for me since I started using LineageOS on my Xiaomi Pad 5. It's multiple decades ahead in smoothness. Even that unoptimised jittery ass HyperOS for Pad was better on 120hz but not as much. Also what are these random bugs on the iPad? It's running iPadOS 17.5.1 but those bugs are random af.

Another day, another odd and old-school technical issue in #Nioh3. This game doesn’t just expect the frame rate to hit its FPS cap to work properly, it also wants the FPS to line up with the display refresh rate. Using the 60 fps cap at 120Hz (or higher) can result in lots of frame-time spikes and microstuttering. the only way to avoid this is to switch the refresh rate to 60 Hz, which gives a much smoother frame time graph. Frame Generation on top of a 60 FPS base at 120 Hz works flawlessly without any frame time issues.

This young lady was trying to finish her workout in the machine when another woman attempted to kick her off of it because she’s in a rush. The woman claimed the young lady was already on the machine for 10 minutes and felt entitled enough to say that it’s her turn now. What would you do? I would ignore her in hopes she walks away, at least the whole thing is on camera so she can report it. After working out for about 30 years now, I can say that most of the time gym people are pretty chill people. Every so often I see some Karen types beginning to come in and ruin the experience for other people. What I hate is they try to rush me off the machine only for them to sit there and scroll on their phone. I used to avoid the confrontation by just letting them use it, I can always come back to it I would say to myself. After seeing so many of them so comfortable with imposing their will on others I now just ignore them, I won’t even acknowledge them, that’s why I have headphones on anyways, it’s my excuse to ignore them without being rude. It doesn’t make sense to me by getting out of their way when I was first. I understand if I was on there for a long time then maybe I will let them go first but the way I see it, I am every bit entitled to use it when I get there first, I shouldn’t have to get out of the way just because they want me to. Would you do the same? I would like to think most people would agree with me on this matter.
