We've seen an angry Superman a couple of times, but an angry Clark Kent......one of the things I like and found interesting about this scene is that Clark doesn't use his name, he announces himself to the guy as "John Kent's father; Lois Lane's husband." His name didn't matter, just his relationship with the people that guy hurt, so that the man knew exactly what got him into that situation."

Henry’s Superman would NEVER snap at Lois like this. People treat this Superman like he’s morally perfect, yet he literally invaded a country, injured people, and threatened to kill its president by putting him on a cactus. But Henry snaps Zod’s neck to save lives and suddenly it’s “Superman is a murderer.” The double standard is crazy.

For who’s not a Superman fan, they might miss how important this tidbit is, but for any true SUPERMAN fan or for the SMALLVILLE generation, hearing a major Hollywood director, head of a studio division, saying he “didn’t cast Lois and Clark, he cast CLOIS” feels so surreal, and once again makes absolute sense why JAMES GUNN is the guy for the job and we’ve been just wasting time before. He is CLEARLY a fan, he knows what is truly special about these characters and what’s important to the people who love those characters, and knows how there is no Clark without Lois and vice-versa. The usage of the acronym CLOIS in itself already blew my mind, that’s how fans talk about and shippers refer to the Clark & Lois as a power couple, specially in the SMALLVILLE forums era. After seeing the trailer I had already 100% certainty he is delivering the SUPERMAN we always dreamed about. But after seeing the interviews from the day he presented the trailer, I’m literally like WHY IS HE DIRECTING SUPERMAN ONLY NOW??? HE WAS THE GUY FROM THEY ONE, we just didn’t know it. We could have avoided so much if he had picked Superman instead of TSS back in 2018… but oh well, maybe we had to face whatever we faced and see the previous universe implode so a fresh take could really take flight. Oddly enough, #Lanterns is making me more peeved at Gunn’s decision to make Superman around Corenswet’s age. Because if the bulk of this season takes place in 2016… wtf was Clark doing at 21 years old?? Still SIX YEARS before he introduced himself to the world as Superman! Was he just The Blur like he was in Smallville? Was he just in college to become a journalist? For the time being, I’m just gonna assume he has Christopher Reeve’s origin. Leaves home for the first time after graduating high school to find the fortress of solitude in the Antarctica. Then he spends roughly like 10-12 years there training and honing his abilities before embracing the world as Superman.

Man of Steel had a lot of great moments, especially between Clark & Jor-el. The fight scenes with Zod & Faora were fucking amazing but I wish they didn’t destroy half of metropolis doing them. There were a good bit of scenes where I was expecting Superman to swoop in and save some lives but he just didn’t. I’m not even gonna talk about the Pa Kent scene, I still liked the movie tho and thought it was really entertaining 6.5/10
