In 1939, Jawaharlal Nehru visited Rabindranath Tagore to ask if Jana Gana Mana could become India's national anthem. A statistician was in the room. That statistician, P.C. Mahalanobis, would go on to build the system that let a newly independent nation of 350 million people see itself clearly for the first time. In 1950, nobody knew what the average Indian ate. Or earned. Or whether they had work. Policy ran on guesswork. Mahalanobis changed that. He built the National Sample Survey, which knocked on thousands of doors and asked, item by item: what did you eat last month? Rice, dal, cooking oil, fuel, clothing. Harold Hotelling, then among the foremost statisticians in the world, wrote that no sampling technique developed anywhere could "compare in accuracy" with what Mahalanobis had built. This is the story of how India built, then lost, and is slowly rebuilding the infrastructure of national self-knowledge. Cheetahs cross half-century 🐆 A moment of great pride for Project Cheetah as Jwala, the Namibian Cheetah and a successful third-time mother, gave birth to five cubs today at the Kuno National Park. With this birth, the number of Indian-born thriving cubs has risen to 33, marking the 10th successful cheetah litter on Indian soil—another important milestone in India’s cheetah conservation journey. This achievement reflects the dedicated efforts, skill, and commitment of the veterinarians, field staff and all involved who continue to work tirelessly on the ground. Your name would go down in history in many cases but instead, Martina McBride will be remembered as a highly divisive singer who only cares about herself Martina McBride willingly sang for Clinton and Obama, but boycotts America’s 250th anniversary just because Trump is in office? Saturday 30th May NAP OF THE DAY 🏇💥 Catterick 15:35 - Zephyln 11/2 Zephyln won this race last year off of 63 and is 5lb better off this year just 58, he did the double in 25 at the course and distance in May and looks the value tomorrow. He ran a great race over jumps last time out in a competitive race outrunning his 33/1 odds at Perth and i think he is in just as good form as last year. His efforts on the flat since have been on the all weather and his mark is competitive again. I would prefer a stronger jockey than Greg Fairley who doesnt have a great overall record but fingers crossed he can get the horse home for the team and the odds still represent value with him in the plate. Winning this race last year ⬇️🎥

Gives me great joy to see Tank T-55, which I requested our Hon’ble RM Rajnath Singh ji for, has reached Namma Mangaluru this evening. As a Fauji, I wished that we be home to a military asset which by virtue of being in public display, inspires our youth to always put #NationFirst reminding them of the valour of our Fauj and sacrifices of our Faujis. As this one having served in the 65 & 71 wars gets installed, it sure will instil a whole new sense of awe & pride for India and Indian Army. Jai Hind🇮🇳 #FaujiForever
