Mike's Bob Monkhouse impression was so spot on. He had his facial look even before he had said a word. Best impressionist in my opinion.

He tells how one day he met Malcolm Muggeridge.. “I understand you do an impression of me?.” “Err yes “ “But what do you do? “ “ Well l say odd things and grimace and sort of generally don’t know what I’m talking about “ “ My dear boy that’s perfect…neither do I!”

He was brilliant, especially when it came to northern accents (Wilson, Waring, Cloughie). Went downhill when he started doing Frank Spencer & other TV characters which were, themselves, impressions.

Brilliant. Think this is from the 1978 Mike Yarwood Xmas Special. Brilliant show. He does Bob Hope “live” from the US, Jimmy Carter looking forward to meeting Mr. Gladstone, this skit, plus a superb last 3min skit where he takes on about 15 different characters at the end! 😊
