Remembering the time Ron Atkinson managed his Sheff Wed side AND commentated for Sky in the same ZDS Cup match. First half he’s next to Peter Brackley on the gantry, then he takes his mic down to the dugout for the second. Remarkable stuff from Big Ron.

Pressman played well 🥴

In the late 70s or very early 80s he spoke by phone from the dugout to commentator Brian Moore on the Big Match while his West Brom team were playing Crystal Palace. He was very candid and criticised his players to Moore while managing.

Only Big Ron would a) agree to do that, and b) get away with it without anyone battering an eyelid.

He was frustrated with his players and made it clear to Moore as well. I think because Moore was so well-respected that Ron had no issue with it either.

Quality. I’d love to see footage of that.

It was on the Big Match Revisited a couple of years back and it might have been 80/81 season. It was at Selhurst Park.

Cheers Gary. I’ll have a butcher’s. 👍🏻

Here you go Stu

Superb. I’ve honestly never seen that before.

He loves it. He sort of did this for The Big Match in the early 80s too. At least an interview on the bench for West Brom at Palace mid-game.

The zenith data systems cup aah what a competition that was 😂🔥

@bryansgunn @lukemason87

I didn't even know this was possible!

Hirsty hatrick!!!

That team 😍😍😍

Drew 3-3 and lost on pens. Think crowd was only about 7,000 that night.
