Former Supreme Court judge Justice Sudhanshu Dhulia speaks up on bail denial to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. "I am disappointed with the judgement (bail denial to Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam). Supreme Court has misinterpreted K.A. Najeeb's case. In the K.A. Najeeb case, Supreme Court granted him bail considering that there are over 200 witnesses and there is no possibility of completion of trial in the near future. So, the possibility of completion of trial has to be considered along with the period of incarceration. In this case, there are 900 witnesses. But this part has not been touched upon by the Supreme Court."

Venezuelan migrant Yorman Reveron's attorney told a judge that he has "received numerous death threats on social media in regards to this case" as he argued that Reveron should be freed without bail. The judge didn't buy it. "It’s clear that Mr. Reveron has been here one year and already had two interactions with the law: petit larcenies and assaultive behavior," Judge Ruth Pickholtz said. "And while he was out on supervised release, he continued in this case. So bail is appropriate at this time." Reveron is being held on $100,000 bail.

Even with two 'contempt of court' chasing me, I decide not to shut up because when a judge writes that he is not looking in to 'merits of the case' and grants bail to an accused on his whim, I think we all need to speak up. To save democracy, these compromised judges must be thrown out from judiciary and the legislature must ask them, "Who the fuck they think they are?" #ArvindKejriwal #दोगली_न्याय_व्यवस्था #SupremeCourt
