كانوا يعتبرون الحجاج يعبدون الكعبة ويدعونها وبالتالي كانوا حجاجا كفارا ولم يقف الحد على تكفير الحجاج والمعتمرين، بل كفروا أهل مكة لأنهم لم ينهوهم عن الشرك المزعوم "فلا يشك من له أدنى علم بأن هذه البلاد (مكة المكرمة) محكوم عليها بالكفر!!" الدرر السنية

Obviously, he didn’t mean the Ka'aba or any of the other Shara’i. This is a clear distortion of the Shaykh’s words—the man refuted nothing. Bid’ah is widespread in al-Haram, where people seek blessings from objects with no text proving barakah. This is minor shirk.
