NEW: Oklahoma high school principal seen charging at and disarming a school shooter in footage obtained by Spencer Humphrey. Pauls Valley High School Principal Kirk Moore is being called a hero after getting shot while stopping a school shooter. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Victor Hawkins, was a former student who said he wanted to shoot up the school “like the Columbine shooters did.” While taking down the shooter, Moore was shot in the leg. He is expected to recover and says he is looking forward to returning to work as soon as possible. "I look forward to returning to work as soon as possible so that I may continue my life’s work educating the next generation of Oklahoma leaders. Until then, my thoughts are with our outstanding students, safe today in the arms of their families and friends," he said. Hero!

Peter Obi today on Arise TV continued with his attempt to edit history and whitewash his performance in office. Let me start with education because that one gets me angry the most. Obi claims to have transformed education in Anambra State and moved Anambra from 26th position in Nigeria to 1st (in other words, we were olodos before he came into office in 2006). Let me use my secondary school, Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka to once again puncture Obi's exaggerations. NB: In Awka the state capital my school, IGS is the most popular and prestigious secondary school. Let me list the public schools in Awka before Obi came in: 1. Igwebuike Grammar School 2. Capital City Secondary School 3. St. John of God Secondary school 4. Amaenyi Girls 5. Agulu Awka (CSS, Umuike) 6. Ezioka (CSS, Umudioka) 7. Kenneth Dike Memorial Secondary School (Amikwo) 8. Government Technical College (later became FSTC) 9. Community Secondary School, Okpuno After Obi left, GTC had become FSTC, St. John of God returned to the Catholic Church leaving behind only 7 government fully-owned secondary schools in Awka. No addition. Back to my school IGS. As at 2005, before Obi came my school was doing well academically (in every school you'll always find the naturally brilliant and the irredeamably olodos). We consistently had one or two students getting 8As, 7As etc in their WAEC. Crucially, exam malpractice was not condoned in my school making some persons to enrol in private schools once they get to SS3. So, it is insulting to me and my school for Obi to be telling the world that when he came in 2006, Anambra was ranked 26th in education (or WAEC) in Nigeria. Now, in terms of transformation of the existing government schools, I can boldly tell anyone who cares to listen that Obi did not transform my school IGS. Imagine if a whole IGS wasn't transformed the way Obi paints it, which govt schools did he then transform? Well, the answer is he simply gave MISSION SCHOOLS grants and they added their own money too! Peter Obi did not add any new classroom block in my school. By the time we were leaving in 2005, UBE had started renovation of two classroom blocks (JS2 and JS3). Our JSS 1 block (an old storey building) was literally shaking. Our admin block and staff room was laughable. We already had basketball and volleyball courts but no proper football field. Crucially, we had a good library, a good ICT center donated to us by MTN with Internet connectivity and a French center. By the time Obi left, our school hall had collapsed and abandoned. Staff room still the way it was. UBE rehabilitated two blocks of classrooms. Towards the end of his administration Obi brought one generator, did borehole and gave a school bus to IGS (the Innoson school bus was mainly used by the principal by the way and not to take students to and fro school). IGS in 2013/2014 was in fact more dilapidated than it was in 2005 when my set graduated. During a tour of the school by my fellow old boys and I during Obi's tenure I wept for my IGS. So, there is no circumstances under which one can boldly claim that Obi transformed IGS, Awka. When you watch this video, the current reasonable state of IGS was thanks to the unwavering efforts of our old boys. We rebuilt the staff room, administrative block, added Corpers Lodge, a new library, a magnificent gate, rehabilitated many classrooms including ones previously done by UBE, changed our blackboards to white boards etc. Different sets of IGS old boys took up these projects. But unfortunately you'll see Obidients showing the new IGS school gate that Obi didn't know how it came about as his achievements in education! Mission schools is not a yardstick to gauge Obi's performance in education. These mission schools have multiple source of funding including from donation of its members and levies but the govt schools don't. Obi neglected them and was doing tokenism for them.

Swan River MLA Rick Wowchuk was scheduled to speak at the grand opening of Swan Valley Regional Secondary School’s new cultural arts centre on Saturday. But the night before, Kinew's office called the school division board chair—Wowchuk’s brother—to insist that the MLA not be allowed to speak. In 2023, the previous PC government invested $15 million towards the construction of the centre, funding that was advocated for by Wowchuk and secured by then-Minister Wayne Ewasko. Monumental has raised $32M Series B led by Khosla Ventures, and its fleet of autonomous bricklaying robots has already built more than 100 real structures across Europe. Houses. A school. A community centre. A hotel. Canal walls. Founded by Salar al Khafaji al Khafaji and Sebastiaan Visser, the co-founders of data visualisation firm Silk, acquired by Palantir in 2016, this is a team that knows how to build and sell a company. The technology is serious: → Fleet of 100+ electric autonomous robots operating on live job sites today → Advanced sensors, computer vision and small cranes laying brick to millimetre precision → All driven by Atrium, their proprietary AI software platform → Nearly half of all homes built in the last three months alone, pace is compounding fast The business model is also worth taking a look at. The BJP's habit of claiming credit using brute police force was in full display today! Former Congress corporator Meher Haider and Youth Congress's Sufiyan Haider were brutally forced out and detained for attending the opening ceremony of municipal school they helped build! The opening of the Mumbai Public School at Cama Road today was converted into a party event by the BJP! Former Congress corporator Meher Haider had been invited to the event but despite her having initiated and followed up on the construction and various amenities at the school, she was made to sit along with the public. In fact, when she reached the venue, she and her supporters were questioned as to why they had come. The BJP leaders on the stage including Ashish Shelar made the event into a BJP campaign event and gave credit for building the school to Ameet Satam repeatedly, at which point Meher objected. Look at the brutal way in which Meher and her son and Youth Congress leader Sufiyan are being dragged out of the room for merely setting the record straight. You can hear Ashish Shelar speaking while all this is happening! Sufiyan was hit by policemen badly and his clothes were torn. Meher and Sufiyan were then detained during the entire duration of the event in a room within the school! The BJP's arrogance has gone too far. But the story in today’s New Vision about the road crash that killed anywhere between 25 and 30 primary‑school children seemed to imply that the responsible MDAs mounted a coordinated, unified response. In reality, no such unified response occurred. What we saw instead were isolated, uncoordinated appearances by individual ministers: - Hon. Muyingo, the Acting Minister of Education and Sports, announced a ban on school trips while standing at King David School. - Hon. Kasule Lumumba, the Minister of ICT, issued a government statement at the Uganda Media Centre. - Hon. Maganda, the Minister of State for Transport, later read a very brief statement. - Hon. Engola, the Minister of Disaster Preparedness, did not address the disaster at all. These were parallel statements, not a coordinated national response. And they all shared one thing in common: they were budget‑neutral. Not a single MDA proposed immediate funding for emergency support, nor did any propose future investment in substantive road‑safety measures. Yet this was a tragedy that demanded the highest level of government coordination. A unified response should have included a single multi‑agency meeting starting by 8:00am and ending by 11:00am and then Hon. Minister of ICT would give a true unified response from government. The meeting should at the very least had representation from: - Ministry of Works and Transport - Uganda Police - Ministry of Health - Ministry of Education - Office of the Prime Minister This is standard practice in countries with mature road‑safety systems. It ensures verified casualty numbers, coordinated messaging, technical investigation, and immediate support to families. Instead, the nation was left with contradictory statements and symbolic measures. Painting school buses a single colour was proposed, a measure with zero impact on road‑safety outcomes. The Director of Traffic then contradicted this by noting that most school buses are hired PSV buses and cannot be painted as school buses. Hon. Hi, this is my part of my story attached. I’m looking for donations to move abroad for my own safety and to be able to finally live with my son who lives abroad to stop social services taking him. They took my daughter when I spoke out about being a victim of Pakistani grooming gangs who raped me from 12yrs old. So I had my son abroad to stop them taking him also and for his own protection away from the rape gangs who also got me pregnant at 13 with my eldest son. I have to pay for everything for my 4yr old son, like school, food, clothing and medical bills. This is my story I constantly have to move because I'm found, I’ve had to move 15/16 times in 7/8yrs because I’m constantly found by the men who raped me from 12yrs old. This morning in Vihiga, I stood on a construction site and felt something powerful, momentum. I inspected the ongoing works at the Kenya School of Government (KSG) Vihiga Campus, following the resumption of construction. KSG, under our State Department, is central to building ethical leadership, strong governance, and capable public servants at every level. My visit was about accountability, checking progress, quality, cost, and scope because public trust matters. I was joined by Vihiga Governor Dr. Wilber Ottichilo, Women Rep Dr. Beatrice Adagala, MP Hon. Ernest Ogesi Kivai, Deputy Governor Wilberforce Kitiezo, and county and national leaders. Their message was clear: this campus will unlock jobs, skills, and opportunity for local communities across Vihiga and beyond as they pledged their support for H.E. President William Ruto. I left encouraged. When national and county leaders work together behind our government’s vision, maendeleo becomes real for ordinary wananchi. #Maendeleo #KSG #BottomUp

Not with wheels. With 432 tiny robots that walk it across the ground like a 1920s parade float powered by Roombas. The building, called the Huayanli complex, combines Chinese and Western design and once hosted a patriotic night school. It also happens to be sitting directly on top of where the city wants to build a giant underground shopping center, parking garage, and subway hub. So instead of knocking it down, they are casually walking it out of the way. Once the underground work is done, they plan to walk it right back like nothing ever happened. Why robots? Because the neighborhood is packed tighter than a storage unit. Normal construction machines would get stuck just trying to turn a corner. So engineers built tiny walking robots, used AI to map every inch of the site, and set up conveyor belts to carry away dirt like they were remodeling the future one scoop at a time.
